Prof. Rojalin Sahu, a distinguished academician from KIIT Deemed to be University, has been honoured with the prestigious title of Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), United Kingdom, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to materials science research. Prof. Sahu serves as Associate Dean of the Central Research Centre, Member of the KIIT Central R&D Committee, Professor in the Department of Chemistry at KIIT School of Applied Sciences, and Convener of the KIIT Cell for Women Safety.

Her admission as an FRSC places her among an elite group of global leaders in chemical sciences, acknowledged under the Royal Society of Chemistry’s internationally respected Leaders in the Field scheme. The Royal Society of Chemistry, founded in 1841, is one of the world’s largest and most influential scientific societies, with over 55,000 members across the globe. It plays a vital role in advancing chemical knowledge, supporting industry-academia partnerships, advising policymakers, and promoting scientific innovation worldwide.

Prof. Sahu currently serves as Convener of the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI), Bhubaneswar Chapter, and Co-convener of the Society of Materials Chemistry (SMC-BARC). She is a recipient of the SMC-BARC Bronze Medal (2023) and was named among the 75 Women Researchers in STEM by the Prime Minister’s Office, Government of India. She has been recognised as the Best Staff Award at KIIT University (2018) and Sikhya Samman Award by Dwarikanath Smruti Samiti in 2023.

Beyond her research, Prof. Sahu is deeply committed to science promotion, innovation, and public engagement. As an AICTE Institute Innovation Ambassador, she mentors young researchers and innovators. She has organized numerous international and national conferences and has been a resource person at the National Children’s Science Congress. Notably, she leads the Wellness of Tribal Children in Kandhamal, Odisha project as Principal Investigator, reflecting her commitment to applying science for social good. She also trains Ayush doctors and schoolteachers, contributing to healthcare and science education outreach in Odisha and beyond.

Upon receiving the FRSC, Prof. Sahu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, for his unwavering support in nurturing a vibrant research culture at the university. She also extended her gratitude to Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT DU, and Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT DU, for their continuous encouragement.
