And finally, Monoethanolamine is a chemical that is found in skincare and beauty products and used as an emulsifier and fragrance ingredient. Monoethanolamine is only a 1-4 out of 10 on EWG's database, however there are still some small concerns over use restrictions (high) and contamination concerns (high). Basically, it's safe. But be sure you wash it off really, really well. I don't know about y'all, but I'd rather just avoid the ingredients entirely. You can get the same benefits in your products using natural alternatives.
So what can you do to avoid these potentially dangerous chemicals? First, check the labels of your products and avoid those that contain TEA, DEA, or MEA.
