Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker was the big winner at the 2022 SXSW Game Awards, picking up multiple awards including Video Game of the Year. This is also, of course, because many players love it very much and prepare enough FFXIV Gil. The ninth annual awards ceremony, hosted by Syfy’s Astrid & Lilly Save the World’s Jana Morrison and Samathan Aucoin, took place almost on Saturday.

Produced by Laurie Lockliear, Executive Producer of Georgia-based Peach Maria Productions, the SXSW Game Awards recognize gaming’s wide-ranging achievements in 12 categories including art, design, music, gaming, and more. Besides SXSW Game of the Year, Final Fantasy online game also received Excellence in Narrative and Excellence in Original Score. Also taking home the SXSW award were Kena: Bridge of Spirits, which led the final nominees into the ceremony; Unpacking, Resident Evil: Village and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Hugh Forrest, chief programming officer at SXSW, said the last two years of the pandemic have been difficult for many people and the entertainment industry has suffered, but has played a key role in providing adventure and escape for all. So they’re super excited to celebrate the gaming industry and the many creators it’s bringing to the event tonight.
