In an interview with Famitsu Magazine, Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) script writer Natsuko Ishikawa revealed that the team plans to release a new story related to the main plot of the Endwalker expansion. Ishikawa also explained the meaning behind some of the key lines from the expansion’s ending scene. Players can prepare enough FFXIV Gil for this. Producer Naoki Yoshida offers some hints about the type of battles players may face next.

In the interview, Ishikawa revealed that Emet-Selch’s last line to the player was actually a message to the rest of FFXIV’s crew to continue creating the story with the material they set. Ishikawa explained she didn’t want the team to feel like the story was over. Lead story designer Banri Oda added that there are already several continents in the world that players have yet to explore.

Additionally, Ishikawa revealed that a new “complementary” story related to the Endwalker incident has been planned for FFXIV. Specifically, it will be a detailed and smaller story. It’s unclear when this new story will appear in a future update. It’s worth noting that Ishikawa also mentioned that if Hermes hadn’t started The Last Days, the world could have become similar to the one in the Endgame dungeon.

On the topic of combat, Yoshida touched on concerns about who players will fight next. Yoshida says there are still various possibilities, as past Final Fantasy titles have even led players against the anthropomorphism of the Void. However, Yoshida also clarified that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to keep expanding the story and creating stronger bosses. The Little Ladies Day event is ongoing until March 31, 2022. If players want to get more rewards in the event, they can buy enough FFXIV Gil on IGGM to upgrade their power. It’s cheap and reliable!
