Melody And Robert's Colourful Wedding
Melody and Robert met almost seven years back and got engaged in February 2019. "We were on the long weekend city burglary York," says Melody. "Rob proposed around the first night by kind of throwing the ring at me. We were through the river there was no bending recorded on one knee because there was a great deal of goose poo! Despite that, I was ecstatic!"
A COVID-RELATED DELAY
Unfortunately, following the proposal, the pandemic caused the marriage to be delayed by more than a year. "We originally planned to obtain married in April 2020," says Melody. "After three postponements, we finally tied the knot on 23 July 2021, with all of our family and friends present with no restrictions. We had the very best day ever!"
BRIDAL SHOPS FEELTIMES
Melody bought her dress at FeelTimes online store. "I chose the dress, a satin and lace A-line mermaid wedding dress," she says. "I loved the detail around the front and also the back, also is very beautiful. I wanted a fantastic satin skirt. My mum also did my buttons track of a crochet hook, because of some great advice from the shop assistant!"
A BEAUTIFUL VENUE
"We got married within the golf club next door to our church in Edgbaston," says Melody. "It was very beautiful and also the food was fantastic. It was also perfect because we're able to arrive on the golf buggy and that we had alpacas join us for that drinks reception!"
THE BIG DAY
"A family friend brought me towards the church in the Morris Minor and my mum walked me on the aisle," says Melody. "Some of our friends also sang within the choir in the church, that was amazing. It was the very first-time congregational singing had happened since March 2020, due to the pandemic and restrictions. Luckily the elements were perfect too."
After the ceremony, there is a drinks reception in the church, where guests may also mingle using the alpacas. Then the newlyweds headed off towards the reception venue within their golf buggy.
ANIMAL MAGIC
"Our colors were royal blue and yellow to compliment Rob's football team," says Melody. "We also were built with a lot of giraffes, as I love them. My aunty made our wedding cake and I made origami boxes for favors. Plus we'd 90 meters of bunting, which my mum and bridesmaid kindly made."
"In the evening there is a live band but my mum also surprised us by having an ABBA tribute of 'Super Trouper' just like in the Mamma Mia film!"
