Katie, a Marketing Manager, and James, a Customer Experience Team Leader, were married on the 23 August 2018, inside a ceremony at Calverton, Nottinghamshire. The couple were relying on the ultra-cool minimalism of Nordic design and styled their day with a lot of lovely, natural materials.

"This was the foremost and only dress I took a screenshot of on Instagram and delivered to my mum and sister. I felt in my gut this was my dress the moment I first viewed it. I wanted something which would stick out and be memorable, something to exhibit my personality making me feel feminine and sassy simultaneously."

"I knew I wanted a simple fabric. This dress ticked my boxes: The ruffled hem, the gorgeous heavy, luxurious fabric, the strapless style that opted for so many different types of capes, veils, overlay tops, etc., and contains pockets!"

"When we've got engaged, it was the only thing I knew for several; that I thought about being married in a church, and specifically this church. This was my loved ones church becoming an adult."

The bridesmaids wore matching blush pink bridesmaid dresses, in addition to their shoes inside a neutral shade.

"I was lucky enough to get have eight incredible women accompany me on my small wedding day, and all sorts of I wanted was to allow them to feel amazing."

Katie and her bridesmaids carried beautiful bouquets, full of greenery like fragrant eucalyptus and ferns alongside grasses and foraged foliage, roses, dahlias, and waxflower blooms in shades of deep red, white, pink, and cafe au lait. Here

"We met at the office in 2013. I'd joined a tech company in Manchester within July, and within November James was recruited. For the first six months, we weren't too interested in each other – he thought I was a little rowdy (I organized lots of the social stuff within the office!) and I thought he was a little of a class clown."

"Over time we became pretty inseparable, by the October became a product, although we kept this secret for a long time because we still worked together. Pretty much a year later James proposed at our apartment in Manchester. It was lovely, romantic, and sentimental, and that we got ready and went to celebrate over dinner."

"He had arranged it's our family and friends to stay in Manchester for a surprise party that night. It would be a brilliant night and shows precisely how well he knows me! We were engaged in October 2016 and also got married in August 2018."

James looked great inside a slate blue tweed suit, that they wore had a classic white shirt, pale gold tie and pocket square, and the grandfather's pocket watch.

"James had six groomsmen, including his best man Jonathan, four oldest friends Jake, Danny, Sam, and Lewis, and finally my brother Matt. Our groomsmen love a reason to dress up, so all personalized their outfits with pocket watches, etc. They looked wonderful."

After the ceremony, there have been drinks outside at Hazel Gap Barn, with this lovely, warm red brick as an ideal backdrop, and live music.

As their amazing day found a close, Katie and James enjoyed their first dance together, to the song Never Enough by Loren Allred, in the film, The Greatest Showman, and there is more music from Nathan Todd (AKA ), which ensured the dancefloor was the beating heart from the evening's celebrations.

"At night, the courtyard became a magical place lit with fairy lights, flares, firepits, and lanterns, therefore the evening party could spill outside – it had become the focal point during the day and evening where we paraded around with sparklers laughing and taking in the magic from the day."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Remember why you're carrying this out. Your big day is about sharing your ex with your closest friends and family – let people be part of it, they like to feel involved, so give people roles to experience where possible while you can't fit everything in yourself."
