Asia Cup 2022: Team India have won both their matches in the Asia Cup 2022 so far. The Rohit Sharma-led side beat Pakistan by 5 wickets to kickstart their campaign in style. The match was hosted at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday (August 28).

The Men in Blue returned to the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday, August 31. There, they went on to beat Hong Kong by 40 runs. Doing so, they secured their place in the tournament Super 4 stage.

Team India became the 2nd team to qualify for Super 4s after Afghanistan. Furthermore, India may play arch-rivals Pakistan again on September 4. However, this is only possible if Men in Green beats Hong Kong tomorrow on September 2 (Friday).

Given their recent form and momentum, the Men in Blue are expected to challenge for the title. Being the defending champions for two consecutive tournaments, they have the chance to 3-peat it this time around. However, as things turn out, there are still a few things to be resolved on their side as soon as possible.

Asia Cup 2022: Rohit Sharma Is Criticised By Mohammad Hafeez, Who Calls Him Anxious and Confused

Rohit Sharma’s performance is among Team India’s major concerns. The Indian captain has failed to amass many runs recently. Rohit is under considerable pressure to perform as captain if former Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez is to be trusted.

Hafeez claims that the captain’s tiredness is showing in his on-field body language. During the clash against Hong Kong, Hafeez described Rohit as nervous and weak. He claimed that the old Rohit, who used to comfortably score runs, is not the current version of Rohit.

“Did you see Rohit Sharma’s expressions after the match. His team won by 40 runs. Rohit looked weak to me when he came in for the toss. He looked nervous and confused. He is not looking like thr Rohit Sharma of old who plays brilliant innings,” Hafeez stated on PTV Sports.

The former Pakistani batter referred to Rohit as a captain who is under a lot of pressure. He claims that Rohit is currently dealing with a number of issues, including his own form. He is undoubtedly losing form right now, that much is certain.

Hafeez went on to discuss Rohit’s failure to score in the IPL and his lack of fluidity with which he formerly played. He stated that one can talk about a new, positive brand of cricket and so on, but in his eyes, it is not showing in Rohit’s body language.

Rohit, according to Hafeez, won’t be leading Team India in the long run. He talked about the fact that is struggling with form and reminisced about his own experience as captain that there’s a huge pressure.
