Top Easiest League of Legends Champions for Beginners
League of Legends has been around for more than 10 years, and there isn't a single gamer who hasn't heard of it. However, with 148 champions currently in League of Legends, the choice of a champion can be quite overwhelming for players starting out. Worry not, newbie, for we’re here to help! Here, we’ll discuss the top champions we believe are perfect for beginners. To keep things diverse, we’ll be featuring one champion per role. With that being said, let’s jump right into our first choice!
Garen
Garen is a Top Lane fighter champion that doesn’t use skills shots or mana! Garen is Okay early-game, mid-game, and late-game. He isn’t weak at any point in the game and isn’t too strong in any certain point either, he’s just OKAY at everything. He’s Okay at doing damage and Okay at being a tank.
Garen’s abilities are very simple, straight forward, and easy to use. He is great at lone 1v1 fights and has passive health regen which is great for staying in lane longer.
Since Garen doesn’t use any mana, you can easily spam his abilities on enemy champions and minions so you don’t have to miss any farm.
Graves
Following Garen is Graves, a deadly marksman that can deal out tons of damage, but is a rather easy champion to play and master. Graves is a master of his own fate and with his shotgun, his abilities are built around dealing damage quickly and getting out alive. Graves can fire two bullets before needing to reload, but the damage output is no joke here...
His W ability, Smoke Screen, means you won't know what hit you before he finishes you with his ultimate, Collateral Damage, where Graves fires an explosive shell, dealing massive damage to the first champion it hits. When the first champion is hit, the cone explodes, dealing even more damage in a cone. Graves is an incredibly easy champion to play and one we highly consider mastering.
Janna
Janna provides protection and healing for teammates. For instance, the Eye of the Storm [E] grants a shield to a teammate or turret. She is able to throw the enemies in a line up in the air, with the Howling Gale [Q] – this is very helpful to stop engaging enemies.
Recommended Summoner Spells: Flash and Exhaust is a good spell combination. Exhaust, for example, reduces foes’ movement speed and damage by 40%.
Recommended Runes: It’s best to use Sorcery as a primary rune with an Arcane Comet keystone. It provides adaptive damage and cooldown reduction. The second rune can be either Domination or Inspiration.
Recommended Item Build: Athene’s Unholy Grail – Redemption – Ardent Censer.
Lux
Like Sona, Lux is a simple and straightforward pick for support, but she can also be played in mid for those looking to try out the DPS role. The mage’s entire kit revolves around landing skillshots. Both her E and her ultimate have wide ranges, making them easy to land for players who may not be as skilled with landing these types of abilities. Additionally, her ultimate has a low cooldown, which is further reduced if it kills an enemy champion, giving players plenty of chances to hone their skills with the ability over the course of a match.
We've gone ahead and discussed some easy to learn champions that will help you master or improve at some of the basic in-game concepts.
