Pepe is considering ending his football career
The legendary 41-year-old Brazilian-Portuguese defender Pepe has become a free agent and may soon end his sports career. This was written about in his blog by the famous insider Rudy Galetti.
According to him, Pepe is seriously thinking about retiring from football after his five-year contract with Porto was completed. At the same time, the player is not deprived of offers - he is invited to play for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, and there were reports of interest from Spanish Celta.
Nevertheless, Porto may ultimately be the last club where Pepe played. He became a part of it at the beginning of 2019, when he left Turkish Besiktas and was a free agent.
In the 2023/2024 season, Pepe played 34 matches for the Portuguese club in all tournaments, scored three goals and made two assists. The Transfermarkt portal estimates his market value at 500 thousand euros. Let us recall that Pepe is the third in the number of matches played for the Portuguese national team after Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Moutinho. The player was born in Brazil, but from the age of 18 he lived in Portugal, where he began his professional career.
