Before she appeared in the now-streaming show “WandaVision,” upcoming Tom Holland starrer “Spider-Man 3,” and the 2022 tentpole “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” she had already chosen Tom Holland’s Spider-Man for a Marvel collaboration. In the season of summer in the year 2018, sometime before the news pertaining to Kevin Feige’s decision to develop big-budgeted MCU shows emerged in the mainstream media, Elizabeth Olsen was quoted as saying that she does want to work (“play” was the word she used) with Spider-Man.
Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man haven’t quite spent so much time on the screen, and though they were a pivotal part of Captain American: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, they have barely managed to cross paths for more than few seconds.
Elizabeth Olsen said way back that she is “kind of” into Spider-Man and wants to have fun with him because he is adorable. In the comic con (ACE) of 2018, she also praised Tom Holland for performing exceptionally well in character and expressed her love for his humor and cuteness.
In the preceding days before WandaVision got released on Disney+, Tom Holland also expressed his desire to work alongside Elizabeth Olsen as he said that the looks of the MCU spin-off really interests him, and though he has little idea of what is going on, the show does look really stylish, and the classical sitcom take on the show also enthralls him. He expressed his desire to work with them so that he would get to know the actors, Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen, a little better as he considers them one of the nicest people he has ever worked with.
He had also offered Kevin Feige at that time that he would love to be a part of the Disney+ show, and should he wishes to include him, the CEO already knows how to contact him.
Only recently, Capital FM also asked Elizabeth Olsen about her part in the upcoming Spider-Man 3 film, and she responded by saying that if everyone is in the film, she would be there in it as well. However, she did add that she hadn’t shot any scenes for the film.
Tom Holland did also tease about Benedict Cumberbatch’s involvement in the third Spider-Man film in the 2019 interview, and it turned out to be true as Benedict Cumberbatch was confirmed to be a part of the upcoming film in 2020.
Benedict Cumberbatch will also be sharing space with Elizabeth Olsen in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” if not in Spider-Man 3. New episodes of the series “WandaVision” now get released on Disney+ every Friday. You can tune into Disney+ to catch all the comedy and action.
Spider-Man, currently has a scheduled release date of December the 17th, 2021. The highly anticipated tentpole Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has a scheduled release date on March the 25th, 2021.
The next MCU film awaiting its release is Black Widow, which is going to have a release date in May of this year.
