YVES MATTAGNE CREATES MENUS FOR BRUSSELS AIRLINES

The chef at Seagrill in Brussels is Yves Mattagne. He was born in 1963. The restaurant has kept its two Michelin stars for twenty years. "Working with Yves Mattagne is a win-win for both of us," says Grégory Baillet, Head of Product at Brussels Airlines. "We get to give our passengers a high-quality dining experience at 30,000 feet and live up to our role as the national airline by promoting a great Belgian restaurant around the world."
Mattagne is already the eighth Belgian Star Chef to make menus for Brussels Airlines. Peter Goossens (Hof van Cleve), Pierre Résimont (L'Eau Vive), and Geert van Hecke are some of the other chefs who have worked for the Belgian airline. "Passengers really like the idea, but this time we added a special touch by choosing a chef from Brussels," says Grégory Baillet.
"I'm very happy with how this project has come together," says Yves Mattagne. "It's not easy to make food for an airline, but I was happy to take on the challenge for Brussels Airlines because this partnership lets us bring the best of Belgium to people all over the world."
Brussels Airlines markets itself as "the Belgian airline" in many ways, and working with famous Belgian chefs is one of them. The airline also serves Belgian beers, and the crew uniforms are made by Belgian brands like Xandres, Bellerose, and Ambiorix. In the last two years, Brussels Airlines has repainted three of its planes with special designs honouring Belgian icons like Tintin, Magritte, and the Red Devils.
