Podcasts aren't the only non-video game content Riot Games is creating for League of Legends -- there's also a Netflix animated series in the works that is set to be released this autumn, comic books, and LoL smurf accounts even a board game.

The animated show, which also comes from League of Legends (LoL) publisher Riot games is set to premiere later that autumn. Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the narrative follows the roots of two iconic League champions-and the energy that will tear them apart.

Arcane, a first for the widely-popular League of Legends franchise, also marks a first for Riot Games as the studios' initial foray into tv.

"League of Legends has inspired global fervor and fandom and we are thrilled to be the house of the very first television show set in this universe, Arcane. The show promises to be a spectacular thrill ride that will have audiences on the edge of the seats," explained Dominique Bazay, Director, Original Animation for Netflix.

Shauna Spenley, Riot Game's Global President of Entertainment added:"Arcane was created as a love letter to our players and fans, who've been asking us to get more cinematic adventures that dip deeper into League of Legends Accounts the worlds and champions in League of Legends. Netflix, with its incredible global brand and shared aim of delivering premium, high excellent content, is the best companion to help us bring Arcane to gamers around the globe."
