The Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath Ji is committed to empowering the farmers of the state by giving fair prices for their produce and coming up with new initiatives to help them increase crop production. The state government is actively and decisively coming up with various new schemes and initiatives to advance this cause.

Over the past few years, farmers have undergone a significant gain in income due to CM Yogi Adityanath's unwavering support for the growth of the farmers.

Now let us dive into the latest schemes by the Uttar Pradesh government and their benefits to the farmers. 

Schemes by the government to boost the UP agriculture

The various agriculture schemes lifted millions of farmers out of the vicious cycle of debt. The schemes are mainly of three types i.e. the first one is centrally sponsored schemes where the central government and state governments share the expenditure of the scheme, the second ones are the central sector schemes where the entire scheme is funded by the central government and the last one if state schemes which are entirely implemented and funded by the state government. Some of the agricultural schemes are listed below-

1.Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)

Under this scheme, the farmers directly get Rs 6000  in their bank accounts. Each farmer receives a fixed amount every year to help with their farming costs which helps them buy seeds, fertilizers, and other things they need.

2. Mukhyamantri Kisan and Sarvhit Bima Yojana

This scheme provides insurance to farmers in case of any natural calamity which may affect crop production the reason for farmer's crop failures could be anything from bad weather to pest attacks. The scheme helps farmers manage their losses by recovering their money. 

3. Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme

To give a push to UP agriculture the farmers are offered a special card called the Kisan Credit Card. With this card, they can borrow money from banks at low interest rates and buy equipment and other supplies for farming.

4. Soil Health Card Scheme

This program gives farmers a card that shows the health of their soil. It tells them what nutrients their soil needs, so they can use the right fertilizers. This helps improve crop yield and quality.

5. Agri-Tech Startups

The government encourages new technology in farming for which the government is promoting startups to develop apps and tools that help farmers for which the government is also providing financial and technological support. For example, they might create an app that gives weather updates or market prices for crops.

6. Paddy and Wheat Purchase Scheme

During harvest time, the government buys paddy (rice) and wheat from farmers at a fixed price to make sure that the farmers get a fair share of their produce in the market and they don’t suffer any losses. 

7. National Agricultural Market (e-NAM)

This is an online market for farmers to sell their crops, directly connecting farmers with the buyers and eliminating the middlemen. On this platform, farmers can connect with buyers from all over the country which will help them to get better prices for their produce.
