Therefore, this study confirms that faba bean proteins could be a good candidate for partial substitution of whey proteins in IFs from a nutritional point of view, provided that these in vitro results are confirmed in vivo.The objective of this paper is to evaluate the knowledge and practices of Polish consumers in terms of broadly defined hygiene on food preparation at home. The consequence of improper food handling may be a faster rate of food spoilage. A specially designed questionnaire was used. The study was conducted on a nationwide, random, and representative group of 1115 adult respondents. Segmentation (cluster analysis) of respondents differing in their practice and knowledge of meal preparation and personal hygiene was carried out. Several areas were diagnosed in which the respondents' knowledge and practice were insufficient, such as storage of food products, inappropriate conduct of the thawing process, and heating of dishes. It was found that the best practice and knowledge of the issues discussed were characteristic of unemployed women over 35 years of age (cluster D). They offen gave answers that were significantly different (p less then 0.05) from those given by the other clusters. The most limited knowledge and the worst practices were characteristic of mainly men with elementary and secondary education who are a part of the labor force (cluster E and A). Following perturbation with the drug, we observed broad and redundant kinome adaptations that extended well beyond canonical RAS/ERK or PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling. MET and MEK inhibition were both associated with an initial inflammatory response mediated by kinases in the JAK/STAT pathway and NFkB. Growth signaling predominated at the 2-day and 21-day time points as a result of broad RTK and intracellular kinase activation. Interestingly, AXL and NFkB were strongly activated at the 2-day and 21-day time points, and tightly correlated, regardless of the treatment type or genomic context. The degree of kinome adaptation observed in innately resistant tumors was significantly less than the surviving fractions of responsive tumors that exhibited a latency period before reinitiating growth. Lastly, doxorubicin resistance was associated with kinome adaptations that strongly favored growth and survival signaling. These observations confirm that MPNSTs are capable of profound signaling plasticity in the face of kinase inhibition or DNA damaging agent administration. Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) implements fine-grained control of resources in an open heterogeneous IoMT environment. However, due to numerous users and policies in ABAC, access control policy evaluation is inefficient, which affects the quality of multimedia application services in the Internet of Things (IoT). This paper proposed an efficient policy retrieval method to improve the performance of access control policy evaluation in multimedia networks. First, retrieve policies that satisfy the request at the attribute level by computing based on the binary identifier. Then, at the attribute value level, the depth index was introduced to reconstruct the policy decision tree, thereby improving policy retrieval efficiency. This study carried out simulation experiments in terms of the different number of policies and different policy complexity situation. We develop a compact, all-fiber mode-locked laser at 1 μm, whose repetition frequency can be tightly synchronized to the external frequency reference. The mode-locked state is achieved via the saturable absorber mirror in a linear cavity, and the laser output power can be amplified from 4 mW to 150 mW after a Yb-doped fiber amplifier. Three-dimensional imaging is realized via the spectral interferometry with the aid of an equal-arm Michelson interferometer. Compared with the reference values, the measurement results show the difference can be below 4 μm. Our system could provide a pathway to the real industry applications in future.

Inadequate margins in breast-conserving surgery (BCS) are associated with an increased likelihood of local recurrence of breast cancer. Currently, approximately 20% of BCS patients require repeat surgery due to inadequate margins at the initial operation. Implementation of an accurate, intraoperative margin assessment tool may reduce this re-excision rate. This study determined, for the first time, the diagnostic accuracy of quantitative micro-elastography (QME), an optical coherence tomography (OCT)-based elastography technique that produces images of tissue microscale elasticity, for detecting tumor within 1 mm of the margins of BCS specimens. Simultaneous OCT and QME were performed on the margins of intact, freshly excised specimens from 83 patients undergoing BCS and on dissected specimens from 7 patients undergoing mastectomy. The resulting three-dimensional images (45 × 45 × 1 mm) were coregistered with postoperative histology to determine tissue types present in each scan. Data from 12 BCS patients and the 7 mastectomy patients served to build a set of images for reader training. One hundred and fifty-four subimages (10 × 10 × 1 mm) from the remaining 71 BCS patients were included in a blinded reader study, which resulted in 69.0% sensitivity and 79.0% specificity using OCT images, versus 92.9% sensitivity and 96.4% specificity using elasticity images. The quantitative nature of QME also facilitated development of an automated reader, which resulted in 100.0% sensitivity and 97.7% specificity. These results demonstrate high accuracy of QME for detecting tumor within 1 mm of the margin and the potential for this technique to improve outcomes in BCS. METHODS AND ANALYSIS In this randomised controlled trial, patients are recruited from two paediatric diabetes clinics at the age of 16 years. Patients are randomly assigned to either the intervention group (n=70) where they will receive usual care plus the structured transition programme, or to the control group (n=70) where they will only receive usual care. Data will be collected at 16, 17 and 18.5 years of age. In a later stage, the intervention group will be compared with adolescents in a dedicated youth clinic in a third setting. The primary outcome is patient empowerment. Secondary outcomes include generic, diabetes-specific and transfer-specific variables. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION The study has been approved by the Ethical Review Board in Stockholm (Dnr 2018/1725-31). It is a patient-friendly intervention, avoiding the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, which is a serious complication of controlled ovarian stimulation in the standard IVF procedure. We plan a randomised controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate whether IVM is non-inferior to the standard IVF for live birth in women with PCOS. METHODS AND ANALYSIS This is a single-centre, open-label, non-inferiority RCT performed in a large reproductive medicine centre in China. Infertile women with PCOS will be randomised to receive either IVM or standard IVF in a 11 treatment ratio after informed consent. IVF procedures used in our study are all standard treatments and other standard-assisted reproductive technologies will be similar between the two groups.

In order to explore the effects of forest regeneration on soil DOM degradation, soil DOM solution was sampled in a natural Castanopsis carlesii forest (NF), a secondary forest of C. carlesii (SF), and an artificial-assisted regeneration forest of C. carlesii (AR) in a sub-tropical area and conducted 42-day laboratory incubation. The results showed that 1) both the degradation rate of soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and the ratio of labile DOC were as follows SF>AR>NF; dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) and microbial biomass carbon (MBC) are the factors significantly affecting the ratio of labile DOC; 2) stable DOC accounted for the majority of soil DOC in all the three forest types (72.3%-94.6%), which had long turnover time and contributed to the formation of stable soil organic matter (SOC); 3) the initial humification index in emission mode (HIXem) of soil DOM would affect the turnover time of labile DOC. The spectral structure of DOM changed dynamically during the degradation process, indicating that microorganism would turn to degrade aromatic and hydrophobic fractions for carbon source after the depletion of labile DOM. Overall, the transformation from NF of C. carlesii into SF and AR could increase the proportion of the easily degradable DOC, and enhance the biodegradability of soil DOM, which were not conducive to the accumulation of SOC.We investigated the fire resistance conferred by different forest age groups (young, middle-age and mature forest) and organs (leaf, branch, and bark) of six typical tree species (Myrica rubra, Schima superba, Symplocos sumuntia, Machilus pingii, Castanopsis eyrei, and Quercus glauca) in Qingshigang national forest farm, Yanling County, Hunan Province, subtropical China. We measured morphological, physical, and chemical properties that could be used as proxies for fire resistance and examined the variances of fire resistance among different organs and age groups in the same tree species. Further, we comprehensively ranked all the tree species by their capacity in fire resistance. We found considerable variation in fire resistance among organs and age groups. Compared with branches and barks, leaves had relatively higher water content (53.7%), higher crude ash content (4.5%), and lower crude fiber content (23.9%). Fire resistance of trees decreased first and then increased with increasing stand age. Trees in middle-aged stage showed the lowest contents of water, crude ash, and crude fiber. The comprehensive scores of fire resistance for diffe-rent organs were significantly different among species. Fire resistance of leaves generally decreased in the order of M. pingii > C. eyrei > S. sumuntia > M. rubra > S. superba > Q. glauca. For branches, M. pingii and C. eyrei showed the strongest fire resistance, followed by M. rubra and S. superba. For barks, S. superba and C. eyrei were relatively stronger in fire resistance than other species, while M. pingii and Q. glauca were the weakest. The comprehensive scores of fire resistance performance of species were different. S. superba (1.033) and M. rubra (0.526) were the most fire-resistant species, while M. pingii (-0.405) and Q. glauca (-1.151) were the least fire-resistant. Therefore, S. superba and M. rubra were the preferred tree species for fire prevention forest belt in forests of subtropical southern China.Using the paired correlation equation g(r) in the spatial point patterns, we investigated the regeneration characteristics and spatial patterns of Castanopsis hystrix seedlings and the spatial correlation with the seed trees in the plantation by large diameter wood cultivation in south subtropical China. The results showed that natural seedling regeneration in C. hystrix plantation was good, which were widely distributed in the whole plantation. The seedling regeneration were mainly contributed by root sprouts, accounting for 73.6% of the total. The number distribution of C. hystrix seedlings in different age classes showed a pyramidal shape, with the contribution of diameter class1, 2 and 3 being 64.3%, 29.3% and 6.4% of the total, respectively. The C. hystrix seedlings mainly presented aggregated distribution in small scale ( less then 15 m). With the increases of size classes and spatial scales, the aggregation strength gradually weakened and finally presented random distribution. The results showed that 1) both the degradation rate of soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and the ratio of labile DOC were as follows SF>AR>NF; dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) and microbial biomass carbon (MBC) are the factors significantly affecting the ratio of labile DOC; 2) stable DOC accounted for the majority of soil DOC in all the three forest types (72.3%-94.6%), which had long turnover time and contributed to the formation of stable soil organic matter (SOC); 3) the initial humification index in emission mode (HIXem) of soil DOM would affect the turnover time of labile DOC. The spectral structure of DOM changed dynamically during the degradation process, indicating that microorganism would turn to degrade aromatic and hydrophobic fractions for carbon source after the depletion of labile DOM. Objective To analyze the characteristics of patients with progressive muscular atrophy (PMA) and calculate the prevalence of PMA in China in 2016. Methods A retrospective analysis based on China's urban employee basic medical insurance data and the urban residence basic medical insu-rance data from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 was carried out. Children under 18 years old were excluded. Patients with progressive muscular atrophy were identified by disease names and codes. Subgroup analyses by gender, region and age were carried out to calculate the gender-specific, region-specific and age-specific prevalences. Age-adjusted national prevalence was estimated based on 2010 Chinese census data. Sensitivity analyses were done by only considering the observed cases and by excluding the top 10% provinces regarding the missing rate of diagnostic information, respectively. Results A total of 996.09 million person-years were included in this study, with 518.41 million person-years in males and 477.67 million perprovinces regar-ding the missing rate of diagnostic information were 0.17 per 100 000 person-years (95%CI 0.14-0.20) and 0.24 per 100 000 person-years (95%CI 0.20-0.28), respectively. Conclusion This study is to calculate the prevalence of PMA among adults in urban China, which can provide basic statistics for the enactment of PMA related medical policies, and clues for the studies on the mechanisms of PMA.Objective To explore the predictive value of carotid femoral artery pulse wave velocity (CF-PWV), carotid radial artery pulse wave velocity (CR-PWV), cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI), and ankle brachial index (ABI) on coronary heart disease (CHD) and cerebral infarction (CI), and the preliminary validation of Beijing vascular health stratification (BVHS). Methods Subjects with at least 2 in-patient records were included into the study between 2010 and 2017 from Vascular Medicine Center of Peking University Shougang Hospital. Subjects with CHD or CI, and without data of vascular function at baseline were excluded. Eventually, 467 subjects free of CHD [cohort 1, mean age (63.4±12.3) years, female 42.2%] and 658 subjects free of CI [cohort 2, mean age (64.3±12.2) years, female 48.7%] at baseline were included. The first in-patient records were as the baseline data, the second in-patient records were as a following-up data. Cox proportional hazard regression was used to establish the predictive models of CHD oriction of CHD, and further research is needed to explore the prediction value for CI.Objective To explore the correlation between different personality characteristics and self-management attitude such as medication, exercise and diet in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Results In this study, 642 subjects were finally included, among whom the sex ratio of male and female was basically the same, 61.21% were over 61 years old. In this study, different genders had differences in neurotic personality (P less then 0.05), different age groups had differences in agreeableness and openness (P less then 0.05), different education levels had differences in openness and extraversion (P less then 0.05), and different income levels had differences iof patients.Objective To evaluate disability status and equity of the middle-aged and old population in China, and to explore the influencing factors contributing to the inequity of disability. Methods This study was based on data collected from the first wave survey (2007-2010) of World Health Organization Study on Global Ageing and Adult Health (SAGE). Concentration index (CI) and concentration curve were calculated to measure the economic-related inequity of disability among the Chinese middle-aged and old people. The CI was further decomposed in which the attributions of social and individual determinants were calculated. Results The mean score of the World Health Organization Disability Assessment Sche-dule (WHODAS) was 7.32 among the Chinese middle-aged and old people, 6.37 for males and 8.21 for females. The CI for the whole participants was -0.190 9, compared with -0.184 4 for the middle-aged and old men and -0.196 1 for the women. Linear mixed-effect models were applied to assess the associations between different monitoring metrics for ambient O3 short-term exposure with pulmonary function or airway inflammation in the healthy young adults. We conducted a prospective study and established population pharmacokinetics model with the Phoenix NLME. The final model was evaluated by goodness-of-fit plots, bootstrap analysis, and prediction corrected-visual predictive check. A total of 163 concentration samples from 45 patients with LD were adequately described by a one-compartment model with first-order elimination along with prothrombin activity (PTA) and creatinine clearance as significant covariates. Linezolid clearance (CL) was 2.68 L/h (95% confidence interval [CI] 2.34-3.03 L/h); the volume of distribution (Vd) was 58.34 L (95% CI 48.00-68.68 L). Model-based simulation indicated that the conventional dose was at risk for overexposure in patients with LD or severe renal dysfunction; reduced dosage (300 mg/12 h) would be appropriate to achieve safe (Cmin, ss at 2-8 ug/mL) and effective targets (the ratio of AUC0-24 at steady state to MIC, 80-100). This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different levels of arginine on growth performance, lipid profile, and inflammatory responses in broiler chicks challenged with Eimeria spp. A total of 384 one-d-old broiler chicks were assigned into eight groups and six replications per group. At 21 days of age, a mixture of Eimeria species was used for induction of challenge in the broiler chicks. Broiler chicks were divided into infected and uninfected groups and received arginine at 85, 100, 125, and 150 % of recommended level. Growth performance, serum nitric oxide (NO), pro-inflammatory cytokines, lipid profile, and faecal oocyst were further assessed. Broiler chicks challenged with coccidiosis showed lower growth performance compared to non-challenged broiler chicks in grower and finisher periods; however, those fed diets containing 125 and 150 % arginine showed better growth performance compared to broiler chicks fed with 85 and100 % levels. The challenged broiler chicks showed higher concentrations for serum NO, lipid profile, and pro-inflammatory cytokines in comparison to uninfected ones. Nevertheless, adding arginine into diet at 125 and 150 % levels increased the levels of serum NO and decreased the concentration of pro-inflammatory cytokines. In conclusion, higher levels of arginine caused anti-inflammatory effects in broiler chicks challenged with coccidiosis.Campylobacter spp. is one of the most frequent causes of foodborne gastroenteritis. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence and to identify the risk factors of farm-level Campylobacter infection in meat-type chicken flocks. A cross-sectional study was conducted in two selected districts of Bangladesh over the period of January to July 2019. A total of 84 pooled cloacal swab samples were collected from 84 broiler and cockerel farms. Data on farm management, biosecurity, and hygiene practices were collected using a structured questionnaire through a face-to-face interview during sampling. Thereafter, Campylobacter spp. were isolated through bacteriological culture and identified by Gram staining and biochemical tests. Furthermore, the isolates were confirmed using the polymerase chain reaction by targeting the 16S rRNA gene. The risk factors were analyzed at the farm level using multivariable logistic regression with the significant levels of P -value ≤ 0.05. Among the 84 farms, 34 were positive to Campylobacter spp.; thus, the prevalence was estimated to be 40.5% (95% CI 30.1%-51.8%). In risk factor analysis, the following factors were found to be significantly associated with Campylobacter infection shed older than five years, birds older than 30 days, flock size with more than 1500 birds, downtime less than seven days, no disinfection of shed surroundings during rearing, rice husk as litter materials, and less than 10 years of farming experience. The study identified the factors that could lead to the setting of effective interventions in controlling Campylobacter infection in chickens to reduce campylobacteriosis in humans through meat consumption.Purpose To compare the characteristics, outcomes, and performance metrics in women undergoing initial breast MRI screening versus subsequent screening. Malignancy was confirmed by pathology. Performance metrics were calculated. Comparisons were made using Binomial and Fisher's exact tests. Materials and methods This prospective analysis of 2DRTSE sequences (using 22 echoes) was performed in 19 patients with 36 liver lesions. Two radiologists independently obtained T2RTs for liver lesions and scored image quality and image artifacts. Lesions were classified as cyst, hemangioma, solid, or necrotic. T2RT values were compared. Inter-reader agreement was evaluated. Results The 2DRTSE images were considered good quality with few artifacts by both radiologists. Nineteen patients were included in the study, with a total of 36 liver lesions. Two of the liver lesions were classified as cysts, 7 as hemangiomas, 4 as necrotic lesions, and 23 as solid lesions. The concordance correlation coefficient was 0.996 for the calculated T2RT of each liver lesion between the two readers, indicating good agreement.

The patients' opinion about the procedure was assessed using Patient-Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS). RESULTS Number of 25 patients were included and followed for a median of 46.9 months. The median of the area of excision was 35.56 cm2 , and the median clinical excision margins were 19 mm (tumor excision margins + thickness of the three-dimensional excision). The surgery was performed once for 16 (64%), and postoperative skin closure within 5-7 days after the procedure was performed for 19 (76%) patients. None of the patients represented any recurrence. The patients' overall opinion and satisfaction POSAS score accounted for 2.3 ± 1.65 and 1.6 ± 0.59, respectively. This was a cross-sectional study conducted between March and Mid-April 2018, among Arabic refugee adolescents aged 13-18 years living in the Baqa'a United Nations Relief and Works Agency refugee camp in Jordan, to generate an Arabic-language version of the questionnaire and to test its psychometric properties among adolescent refugees. Five hundred and ninety-one adolescents completed the PHQ-A in Arabic. Using SPSS and AMOS version 25, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was computed to assess construct validity and instrument reliability. Multivariate logistic regression analyses assessed the discriminant validity of the PHQ-A. Although exploratory factor analysis identified the nine items from the original version and explained only 37% of the variance, confirmatory factor analysis supported the one-factor structure of the PHQ-A. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the scale was 0.82 and ranged from 0.79 to 0.81 for each item. Therefore, we reevaluate the delivered prescriptions under the TARGIT protocols using the V4.0 DDC. A 20-Gy dose was prescribed to the surface of the spherical applicator, and the TARGIT DDC was used to calculate the treatment time. For a constant treatment time, the V4.0 DDC was used to recalculate the dosimetry to evaluate differences in dose rate, dose, and equivalent dose in 2-Gy fractions (EQD2) for an α/β = 3.5 Gy (endpoint of locoregional relapse). The ATP-binding cassette transporter member A3 (ABCA3) is a lipid transporter with a critical function in pulmonary surfactant biogenesis. Biallelic loss-of-function mutations in ABCA3 result in severe surfactant deficiency leading to neonatal respiratory failure with death in the first year of life. Herein, we describe a newborn with severe respiratory distress at birth progressing to respiratory failure requiring transplant. This patient was found to have a maternally inherited frameshift loss-of-function ABCA3 mutation and a paternally inherited synonymous variant in ABCA3 predicted to create a cryptic splice site. Additional studies showed reduced ABCA3 expression in hyperplastic alveolar epithelial type II cells and lamellar body alterations characteristic of ABCA3 deficiency, leading to a diagnosis of autosomal recessive ABCA3-related pulmonary surfactant dysfunction. This case highlights the need for an integrated, comprehensive approach for the diagnosis of inherited diseases when in silico modeling is utilized in the interpretation of key novel genetic mutations.Reticular dysgenesis is a form of severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in AK2 Here we present the case of a boy diagnosed with SCID following a positive newborn screen (NBS). Genetic testing revealed a homozygous variant AK2 c.330 + 5G > A. In silico analyses predicted weakened native donor splice site. However, this variant was initially classified as a variant of uncertain significance (VUS) given lack of direct evidence. To determine the impact on splicing, we analyzed RNA from the proband and his parents, using massively parallel RNA-seq of cloned RT-PCR products. Analysis showed that c.330 + 5G > A results in exon 3 skipping, which encodes a critical region of the AK2 protein. With these results, the variant was upgraded to pathogenic, and the patient was given a diagnosis of reticular dysgenesis. Interpretation of VUS at noncanonical splice site nucleotides presents a challenge. RNA sequencing provides an ideal platform to perform qualitative and quantitative assessment of intronic VUS, which can lead to reclassification if a significant impact on mRNA is observed. Genetic disorders of hematopoiesis and immunity represent fruitful areas to apply RNA-based analysis for variant interpretation given the high expression of RNA in blood.Standardization of the use of next-generation sequencing for the diagnosis of rare neurological disorders has made it possible to detect potential disease-causing genetic variations, including de novo variants. However, the lack of a clear pathogenic relevance of gene variants poses a critical limitation for translating this genetic information into clinical practice, increasing the necessity to perform functional assays. Genetic screening is currently recommended in the guidelines for diagnosis of hypomyelinating leukodystrophies (HLDs). HLDs represent a group of rare heterogeneous disorders that interfere with the myelination of the neurons in the central nervous system. One of the HLD-related genes is HSPD1, encoding the mitochondrial chaperone heat shock protein 60 (HSP60), which functions as folding machinery for the mitochondrial proteins imported into the mitochondrial matrix space. Disease-causing HSPD1 variants have been associated with an autosomal recessive form of fatal hypomyelinating leukodystrophy (HLD4, MitCHAP60 disease; MIM #612233) and an autosomal dominant form of spastic paraplegia, type 13 (SPG13; MIM #605280). In 2018, a de novo HSPD1 variant was reported in a patient with HLD. Here, we present another case carrying the same heterozygous de novo variation in the HSPD1 gene (c.139T > G, p.Leu47Val) associated with an HLD phenotype. Our molecular studies show that the variant HSP60 protein is stably present in the patient's fibroblasts, and functional assays demonstrate that the variant protein lacks in vivo function, thus confirming its disease association. Because of the initial lack of patient-derived primary cell cultures, these hypotheses were evaluated using several approaches including western blot analysis and pharmacological evaluation with molecularly similar alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines. Once a primary cell culture became available, the RET inhibitor cabozantinib was tested but showed no appreciable efficacy in vitro, affirming with the western blot negative for RET protein expression that RET germline mutation could be only incidental. In parallel, the patient was treated with cabozantinib without definitive clinical benefit. Parallel chemical screens identified PI3K and HSP90 as potential tumor-specific biological features. Here we show the effect of inactivation and overexpression of the usp45 gene on L. lactis growth, phenotype and cell division. Our results are in agreement with those obtained in streptococci, and demonstrate that L. lactis Usp45 protein is essential for proper cell division. We also show that the usp45 promoter is highly activated by galactose. Overall, our results indicate that Usp45 mediates cell separation, probably by acting as a peptidoglycan hydrolase.

Cell replacement using human embryonic stem cells may offer the opportunity to repair the damaged circuits and significantly ameliorate disease conditions. Here, we showed that in-vitro-differentiated human striatal progenitors undergo maturation and integrate into host circuits upon intra-striatal transplantation in a rat model of HD. Treatment of normal neurons with GM1 ganglioside also disturbed presynaptic function. A high-content drug-screening system was then established and identified two compounds as drug candidates for GM1 gangliosidosis. Treatment of the patient-derived neurons with the candidate agents activated autophagy pathways, reducing GM1 ganglioside accumulation in vitro and in vivo, and restoring the presynaptic dysfunction. Our findings thus demonstrated the potential value of patient-derived iPSC lines as cellular models of GM1 gangliosidosis and revealed two potential therapeutic agents for future clinical application. Recent data have shown the therapeutic potential of modulating PAR conjugation (PARylation) PAR polymerase (PARP) inhibitors can modulate the formation and dynamics of these condensates as well as the trafficking of their components - many of which are key disease factors. However, the way in which PARylation facilitates these functions remains unclear, partly because of our lack of understanding of the fundamental parameters of intracellular PARylation, including the sites that are conjugated, PAR chain length and structure, and the physicochemical properties of the conjugates. This review first introduces the role of PARylation in regulating biomolecular condensates, followed by discussion of current knowledge gaps, potential solutions, and therapeutic applications.

BigTop uses the z-axis to display minor allele frequency of each SNP, allowing for the identification of allelic variants of genes. BigTop also offers additional interactivity, allowing users to select any individual SNP and receive expanded information, including SNP name, exact values, and gene location, if applicable. BigTop is built in JavaScript using the React and A-Frame frameworks, and can be rendered using commercially available VR headsets or in a two-dimensional web browser such as Google Chrome. Data is read into BigTop in JSON format, and can be provided as either JSON or a tab-separated text file. The categorization is based on the secondary structure topology of quadruplexes and their component tetrads. It supports the analysis of canonical and non-canonical motifs. Besides the class recognition, ElTetrado prepares a dot-bracket and graphical representations of the secondary structure, which reflect the specificity of the quadruplex's structure topology. It is implemented as a freely available, standalone application, available at https//github.com/tzok/eltetrado. CONCLUSIONS The proposed software tool allows to identify and classify tetrads and quadruplexes based on the topology of their secondary structures. METHOD An international web survey was sent to 197 emergency surgeons with the aim to collect data about emergency surgeons' experience in the management of patients admitted in the emergency department for acute abdominal pain after bariatric surgery. The survey was conceived as a questionnaire composed by 26 (multiple choice and open) questions and approved by a steering committee. RESULTS One hundred seventeen international emergency surgeons decided to join the project and answered to the web survey with a response rate of 59.39%. CONCLUSIONS The aim of this WSES web survey was to highlight the current management of patients previously submitted to bariatric surgical procedures by ES.
