The MCIWEM grade (Membership) is a non-chartered status of membership for those professionals working at an operational level and pursuing a pathway in the water and environmental sector.

Application requirements:

For the MCIWEM grade, do the following things:

Fill up an online application form

Submit a copy of your latest resume

Provide the authority with copies of relevant certificates that are signed by your sponsors

Provide the authority with 2 sponsors who are members of CIWEM or professionally registered members (Chartered or working at an equivalent level) of other professional organizations (including IEng, CEng, CSci and CEnv registrants) who must be capable of reviewing and signing off your application. You must submit a signed letter from each of your sponsors alongside your application to confirm that they have done this.

You have to complete a report of 500 words in which you need to detail the skills and knowledge you have earned in your water or/and environmental career or a summary of your NEBOSH Diploma assignment.

You must write your report in the first person and show your responsibility in water and/or environmental management. You need to identify projects/pieces of work for which you have had responsibility and describe your roles and responsibilities in them.  This report needs to describe an understanding of the environmental drivers and problems surrounding your work and your role in the promotion of good environmental practice.
