Buna-N or nitrile rubber is a synthetic rubber created by copolymerizing butadiene with acrylonitrile. It is often referred to as nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR). a type of synthetic rubber that is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile. It has adequate tensile strength and resilience, good to extraordinary compression set resistance, and good to excellent elongation properties, but has poor flame and steam resistance.

High oil resistance is often favored in seals, gaskets, and other auto parts that come into contact with hot oils. Nitrile Butadiene Rubber excels in aviation applications due to its ability to withstand temperatures between 40 and 108 degrees Celsius. Nitrile butadiene rubber is mostly used to manufacture parts for dashboards, brake pads, kick panels, and other products in the automotive and industrial sectors. It is referred to as the rubber products workforce in these industries.
