Interventional radiology is already a safe and minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgical procedures. However, ongoing research is expected to lead to even safer and more effective procedures in the future. One area of focus is reducing radiation exposure during imaging-guided procedures. New techniques and devices are being developed that could allow Interventional Radiology to perform procedures with lower radiation doses, reducing the risk of radiation-related complications. Interventional radiology procedures are already used to treat a wide range of medical conditions, including cancer, vascular disease, and liver disease. In the future, it is likely that interventional radiology will continue to expand the range of conditions that can be treated using minimally invasive techniques.
