I played the JP model for close to 90 hours and PSO2 Meseta couldn't find the allure. You spend the majority of your time oneshotting mobs that are braindead-easy in fields. Then you sit around waiting for emergency quests to spawn which are braindead easy because everyone's gear is indeed absurdly strong that you'll hardly be able to hit anything. They rush through in lightspeed anything in their own way. SEGA added some EQs where you are forced to pilot a mecha that doesn't actually do a great deal of damage just so new Phantasy Star Online 2 players could get a chance at hitting stuff. There are many different types of quests with vague names like buster quests, featured quests etc and you'll need to spend ages on wikis hoping to determine which of them are worth doing. The majority of them are dull, the only ones worth doing are those with rewards.

Having to find abilities to be learnt by disks is a stupid imo that is mechanic and the hotbar system is absolutely dreadful. I really don't get why I can not just have multiple hotbars rather than having to scroll through subpalettes and palettes and shit onscreen. It is a UI nightmare that doesn't appeal to anybody. The system stinks. The celebration UI is minuscule and you can not customize considerably. Can't put over buffs icons to inform what they do. No penalty for dying because you can just respawn like nothing happened. Because the material you conduct is so easy that you barely need to say anything conversation occurs in the lobby.

The gearing system is very convoluted and you need to spend ages sifting via youtube videos and wikis to comprehend it. The simple fact that there are new-type and old-type weapons using two distinct ways to improve (grind) them is absurd. Caps and affixes are unintuitive unless you have a manual to refer to this explains how they operate. Collection files are pretty dull since they just boil down to"spam more EQs" which is probably what you're already doing. There is too much loot in Phantasy Star Online 2. Every time you kill a boss they explode like a pinata and drop a ton of shit that is useless. As a newcomer it is hard to understand what's well worth picking up and what is not. Most of the weapon drops you see are horribly obsolete. I guess they could be vendored by you?

Level cap unlock quests are really annoying. Why do I need to get a 13* +35 weapon simply to level Lv75 that is past? It is only a hurdle thrown into slow your own progress. Who finds those fun? Most quests (customer orders) are just kill or bring quests. There are so many, but all of them are amazingly dull. Some customer orders are extremely annoying to do. The ones especially. Most of them ask enemy to be killed by you but everything you know is that free area that enemy is found in. Which means you have to run around for ages in a sizable shitty map looking for the mob you are supposed to kill, because the wiki does not tell you exactly where they unfold. It is nothing like the dinosaurs are even remotely difficult so it just becomes a chore to kill.

The story is totally terrible but at least it just consists of cutscenes now and I don't think that it's vital to clear to advancement (considering you FFXIV). Needing to pay for ability tree foliage stinks. I know someone is going to reply to the with"only await a free reset lol" but no I'm not going to wait for SEGA to launch a balance patch just so I can reset my ability tree, that is fucking stupid. When that is going to take place, I really don't know. As a newcomer you'd better go up look builds for your class ASAP until you fuck your skill tree. Mags are dumb as well because they're only stat-sticks that are meant to buy Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta increase cash shop revenue since you can't reset your Mag's stats.
