Diablo 4 Gives First Look at Battle Pass
Diablo 4 recently gave players a closer inspection at exactly what the Battle Pass would seem like in the highly-anticipated action RPG. By comparing and contrasting the free and premium versions of the Battle Pass, Diablo 4 players have a pretty good scope from the differences to be found within the optional rewards system.
Last year, Diablo 4 confirmed plans for any Battle Pass in the newest mainline game within the dark ARPG franchise. Though it promised Diablo 4 will not have any pay-to-win elements mounted on microtransactions, many players had misgivings concerning the Battle Pass–especially in light of the controversies surrounding Diablo Immortal.
The other 63 tiers around the Battle Pass are purely cosmetic. Each Diablo 4 Premium Battle Pass includes two full teams of cosmetic armor for each class–each bit of which can be mixed and matched along with other transmogs–as well as special mounts and mount barding. Additionally, players will earn premium currency to purchase more cosmetics in the cash shop. The Premium Battle Pass for Diablo 4 will cost $10.
Players may also buy an Accelerated Battle Pass for $25. Doing so will immediately unlock 20 free tier skips around the Diablo 4 Battle Pass, along with an additional special cosmetic. Notably, the tier skips won't give quicker use of the Smoldering Ash in the free Battle Pass–these character upgrades are level-locked, so nobody will be able to spend some money to unlock them faster.
The Diablo 4 Battle Pass appears to be quite fair. Blizzard met its promises of ensuring the Battle Pass wasn't pay-to-win, all while adding optional cosmetics for players thinking about acquiring what Diablo 4 called “specific class and character fantasies” offered in microtransactions. Even so, with countless cosmetic options in Diablo 4’s transmog system, players shouldn't have any problems making a look and feel that fits their character perfectly with or without the cosmetics in the Premium Battle Pass.
