CIOB professional review is an assessment of a candidate's skills and knowledge. Through it, construction professionals demonstrate their expertise and receive recognition within the industry. It evaluates a candidate's skills, knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas such as technical competence, leadership abilities, etc.

Professional review is the final stage towards gaining Chartered membership. It assesses whether the candidate has the right knowledge, skills and experience in the three main areas of competence, occupational, management and professionalism. After passing the assessment, one becomes a Chartered member and be entitled to use the designation MCIOB.
