I would strongly suggest checking it out and analyzing the new mining and smithing mechanics, as well as Archaeology (prob one of my favourite skills today; incorporates into RuneScape game well and has lots of lore)! Be warned that the UI will be quite new/jarring, but OSRS gold you can customize it any which-way you want! I would recommend reading on this post yesterday that was a player from OSRS checking it out, and folks have some really good tips/tricks on getting into RuneScape game.
You can play with an Ironman to prevent it all, or do not ever have to buy keys or makeup. Legacy Combat Mode remains an option, though the EoC is really needed by level PvM. Like everyone, however, I put off learning the new battle system, but love it now. It has been significantly improved from the implementation that drove way. I believe that you should give it a shot! You're missing a great deal, if all is out of OldSchool players!
Two things in RS3 are "negative:" the MTX focus, and the UI. MTX does not really impact daily life as much as you think, if you don't let it. You move on, and get your everyday chests. You can spend less but that's no way to actually play with RuneScape game. Where MTX becomes bothersome is in the upgrade program of RS3. We'll see it again in a few months, when this sub becomes full of MTX complaints. Massive content upgrades drop, with long dry spells in between. These dry spells are filled with MTX events and promotions, usually.

Easy to dismiss, but when it seems like the only matter Jagex is doing is pumping out MTX content, it becomes frustrating. The UI is complex and convoluted... but easy to comprehend with sufficient time. This is just MMORPG syndrome: that the UIs are almost always intricate. RS3 is very different from OSRS's simple approach to matters: battle, skilling, and actions are very complex, and the completely customizable UI reflects this. It can be daunting, but ultimately is a positive for the hardcore player.
