They try to imitate everything that they see in these serials, including dresses, ornaments, food habits, and rituals.

This cultural intrusion through media has been threatening the Bangladeshi culture and society. The Bangladeshi society is becoming infected with Indian language, food habit, attires, rituals, and attitudes. These are turning the society into a victim of acculturation and culture invasion that could result in malpractice and anomaly in traditional Bangladeshi life. These can cause social disintegration and lead to social and familial violence in the future (Tomlinson, 2003; Carey, 1993). It may also affect the indigenous art and culture of Bangladesh. They can lead to a negative impact on the gender role and values as the female characters are seen to be sexy, beautiful and attractive. The sexiness of the women can also encourage the male viewer to engage in sexual activities outside his marriage and cause conflict in the family.

This inclination of the general population towards Indian TV serials is creating various risk factors such as eve teasing, rape, and crime.
