A Parlay is a group of 2-12 bets that are linked together. Winning a parlay requires all the individual bets to win. Even one losing bet will deem the entire ticket a loss. Parlays typically offer higher payouts than straight bets, but also carry more risk than a single bet.

Each sports book has its own rules for parlay payouts and ties. Generally, each leg of a parlay pays out at -110 odds. However, each sports book will have its own pay chart for the different combinations of bets within a parlay.

Often, bettors build parlays to make the most of their bankroll and maximize their potential for winning big. Using multiple bets in a parlay can help them hit their profit goal quickly, and keep the losses at a minimum.

Many bettors also enjoy the challenge of building parlays that will result in a large payout, especially in the NFL, where sharp lines are set and winning isn’t always easy. For example, a bettor who feels strongly about the Falcons +10.5 and Colts -8 might combine those bets into a parlay, as those two teams have a very high probability of covering their spreads.

Besides football and basketball, parlays can be placed on baseball, hockey and golf as well. However, each sport has its own unique betting markets that must be taken into account when constructing a parlay.  Parlay
