138 (disambiguation) 138 is a railway engine in the Midland Red livery. It has been a member of the Great Western Railway mainline fleet since 1958.
SCP-138 is a human male, suspected to be in excess of four thousand (4000) years old. He is approximately 1.5 meters in height, emaciated, and wizened. He speaks exclusively in a dialect of ancient Egyptian and has displayed minimal intelligence, only displaying basic problem solving skills. He was discovered in 2006 in a tomb near the one unearthed for Tutankhamen, sealed inside a sarcophagus. SCP-138 is in a chronic state of agony, constantly asking for humanitarian euthanasia, and exhibiting signs of severe physical trauma. Unlike other SCPs, which have demonstrated accelerated regenerative properties, SCP-138's body appears to simply resist death, despite lethal injuries and wounding. 138 is currently stored out of traffic at Dinas due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is scheduled to be restored for service alongside 143 and will carry that boiler while that locomotive undergoes a heavy overhaul. This is expected to be completed in late 2020. Until then, it will continue to run as part of the Gold and Silver sponsors train between Caernarfon and Porthmadog. It is expected to re-enter front line service in early 2021 once 143 has returned to traffic. During this period, 138 will be repainted in the new Midland Red livery.
