Report Overview

Hydroxyapatite Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.3% during the forecast period 2024-2031.

Hydroxyapatite, derived from biological sources (like coral, bovine, or marine algae) or synthesized artificially, is employed for bone repair and regeneration. It is used in various forms such as granules, blocks, and scaffolds, either alone or in combination with polymers or other ceramics, or as coatings on orthopedic or dental implants. These products are commercially available for bone repair, replacement, augmentation, and as scaffolds in tissue engineering for bone regeneration.

The reason for the development of hydroxyapatite as a bone substitute material is its compositional similarity to bone minerals. HA is also used as an abrasive to roughen the surfaces of metal implants and as a source material for depositing bioactive coatings on orthopedic and dental implants. Additionally, these materials are suitable for use as transfection agents, drug carriers, and percutaneous devices.
