Report Overview

Breast Aesthetic Surgery Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.5% during the forecast period 2024-2031

Aesthetic surgery, also referred to as cosmetic surgery, is a medical discipline dedicated to enhancing an individual’s physical appearance. It can be performed on any body part and is carried out by a specialized aesthetic plastic surgeon. Breast aesthetic surgery, which includes reduction, enhancement, and mastopexy, has been in practice for many years.

Breast aesthetic surgery encompasses three types: augmentation, reduction, and reconstruction. Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is a procedure aimed at improving the size and appearance of a woman’s breasts using implants. These implants, typically silicone shells filled with either saline or silicone gel, can be positioned above or below the pectoralis chest muscle.

Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty, involves the removal of excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue. This procedure can result in extensive scarring and potential side effects such as pain, lumpiness from scar tissue, and the inability to breastfeed.

Breast reconstruction aims to recreate breasts with the desired appearance and volume, which can be achieved with either an implant or a woman’s own tissue.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, there was a 7.7% increase in the total number of breast aesthetic surgical procedures in 2017 compared to 2016, with nearly 2.1 million procedures performed in 2017.
