The beginnings of A Course in Miracles could be traced back once again to the effort between two individuals, Helen Schucman and William Thetford, equally of whom were prominent psychologists and researchers. The course's inception happened in early 1960s when Schucman, who was simply a scientific and study psychologist at Columbia University's School of Physicians and Surgeons, started to experience some inner dictations. She described these dictations as originating from an interior voice that recognized it self as Jesus Christ. Schucman originally resisted these experiences, but with Thetford's encouragement, she began transcribing the communications she received.

Over a period of seven decades, Schucman transcribed what can become A Class in Miracles, amounting to three sizes: the Text, the Workbook for Pupils, and the Guide for Teachers. The Text lays out the theoretical base of the christ  class, elaborating on the key methods and principles. The Book for Students includes 365 instructions, one for each day of the entire year, designed to steer the audience through a day-to-day practice of applying the course's teachings. The Information for Educators provides further advice on how best to realize and train the maxims of A Class in Miracles to others.

One of the main styles of A Class in Wonders is the idea of forgiveness. The class shows that true forgiveness is the important thing to inner peace and awareness to one's divine nature. According to its teachings, forgiveness is not simply a moral or ethical practice but a simple shift in perception. It requires letting move of judgments, issues, and the belief of failure, and as an alternative, seeing the planet and oneself through the lens of enjoy and acceptance. A Course in Miracles highlights that true forgiveness results in the recognition that we are typical interconnected and that divorce from one another is definitely an illusion.

Another substantial part of A Course in Wonders is its metaphysical foundation.
