The beginnings of A Program in Wonders can be followed back to the cooperation between two individuals, Helen Schucman and William Thetford, both of whom were outstanding psychologists and researchers. The course's inception occurred in the early 1960s when Schucman, who was a scientific and study psychologist at Columbia University's School of Physicians and Surgeons, began to see some internal dictations. She identified these dictations as via an internal voice that identified it self as Jesus Christ. Schucman initially resisted these activities, but with Thetford's inspiration, she began transcribing the messages she received.
Over an amount of seven decades, Schucman transcribed what can become A Course in Miracles, amounting to three amounts: the Text, the Workbook for Pupils, and the Guide for Teachers. The Text sits out the theoretical base of the A Course In Miracles Videos program, elaborating on the core methods and principles. The Workbook for Students contains 365 instructions, one for every single day of the year, made to steer the reader via a day-to-day exercise of applying the course's teachings. The Manual for Teachers offers further advice on how best to understand and teach the maxims of A Program in Wonders to others.
Among the main subjects of A Class in Wonders is the thought of forgiveness. The class teaches that true forgiveness is the main element to inner peace and awareness to one's divine nature. In accordance with its teachings, forgiveness is not only a moral or honest training but a fundamental shift in perception. It requires letting move of judgments, grievances, and the perception of sin, and as an alternative, seeing the entire world and oneself through the lens of love and acceptance. A Program in Miracles highlights that true forgiveness contributes to the acceptance that we are interconnected and that separation from each other is an illusion.
Yet another significant aspect of A Course in Miracles is its metaphysical foundation. The program gift ideas a dualistic view of reality, unique between the confidence, which represents separation, anxiety, and illusions, and the Holy Soul, which symbolizes love, truth, and spiritual guidance. It suggests that the pride is the origin of putting up with and struggle, while the Sacred Soul offers a pathway to healing and awakening. The goal of the class is to simply help individuals surpass the ego's confined perspective and arrange with the Holy Spirit's guidance.
