As Scott proceeded to develop FNAF games, a franchise was created. But more information about the FNAF universe is revealed with each new game in the series. Because Scott left the game's mythology open-ended and ambiguous, fan theorists have cobbled it together to create a coherent chronology. Many fans have their own interpretations of the plot and FNAF, but it's recommended to avoid playing the games based on their release dates if you want to learn the tale for yourself.

Overview: In 1983, two brilliant robotics engineers named William Afton and Henry Emily made the decision to launch Fazbear Entertainment, a chain of eateries whose major draw was a collection of animatronic outfits they had developed. Although co-founder William Afton's eateries were a success, he is also a serial murderer who traps and kills kids using his own designs. As we learn the terrible things William has done to his wife and children, we continue to follow the Afton family's narrative.

Following the release of the newest game Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, here is a summary of all previous FNAF titles, listed chronologically rather than by date of release.

FNAF 4 (1983)

In terms of chronological order, "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" takes place in 1983. We pretend to be a weeping toddler protecting himself in his room from terrifying animatronics till dawn. Evan Afton, the wailing kid, has nightmares about the animatronics at Fredbear's Family Dinner. In an effort to frighten him away from the animatronics—which William Afton employs to capture and murder kids with—his father William Afton fabricates terrible nightmares for him. But at the conclusion of the game, Evan's brother Michael takes him to the cafe, where the animatronic Fredbear bites off his head as a result of a malfunction.

FNAF 2 (1987)

Henry Emily and William Afton are co-owners of the prosperous Fredbear's Family Diner. But since William is the main suspect in the disappearance of five children at the restaurant, Henry made the decision to create a second location, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, but without him this time. We pretend to be Jeremy Fitzgerald, a security guard. The location's animatronics had a face recognition system intended to keep William away, but it malfunctioned, thus the security guard is now had to wear a Freddy mask to protect himself from the robots.

Sister Location of FNAF (Late 80s to early 90s)

After Fredbear's Family Diner closed, William created his own business where he produced animatronics for hire that could be transported to birthday parties but were really simple tools for kidnapping kids. After his daughter Emily Afton unintentionally became captured by one of the animatronics, Circus Baby, his rental company finally came to an end. The spirits imprisoned in the animatronics come up with a scheme to escape once the establishment closes. They pretended to be broken so the gamer would come and repair them. The player is drawn into the "scooping chamber," where his insides are removed and the remaining skin is used by the animatronics to sneak away unnoticed.

FNAF (1993)

1993 is the year that the first game is set. The FNAF 2 restaurant, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria, has recently closed due to another incident with missing children that William was responsible for. Henry makes another attempt to build a new restaurant, unaware that the animatronics he utilized had been taken over by the spirits of the lost kids. A different security officer is controlled by the player as he attempts to protect William from the possessed animatronics. Henry would never again launch a restaurant franchise after this.

FNAF 3 (2023)

Around 2023, 30 years after the events of the first FNAF game, a haunted house named Fazbear's Fright opens to pay homage to the tales that sprang from the Fazbear Entertainment network of eateries. The designers of Fazbear's Fright search through the former sites for some artifacts to include in the attraction. They quickly come upon "Springtrap," a malfunctioning animatronic suit, but are unaware that it contains William Afton's body. Invading Freddy Fazbear's Pizza 30 years before, William accidentally releases the souls of the lost children as he destroys the animatronics. William attempts to conceal himself in the Springtrap suit, but it breaks down and suffocates him from the inside. This time, we are defending ourselves against William Afton, who is represented by the player—yet another security guard.

Simulator of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza (2023)

In an effort to burn his father, William Afton, to death, Michael Afton burns down Fazbear's Fright. However, they both escape the flames. Henry makes the decision to set up a fictitious pizzeria to entice the surviving animatronics since he is aware that there is still scary animatronics out there that weren't destroyed 30 years ago. Michael and William visit the Pizzaria together with the animatronics from the FNAF Sister Location. As Michael, our character, we endeavor to design the restaurant using reclaimed animatronics. Henry starts a fire and ensures that all the exits are blocked when everyone has arrived at the restaurant. For their souls to finally find peace, Henry and the rest of the cast burn behind the walls.

FNAF: Help Wanted (late 2020s early 2030s)

A game developer made the decision to create a VR experience based on the events of the Fazbear Entertainment series sometime after the events of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. The developers received a parcel one day that was packed with vintage animatronic components. For a more realistic experience, the animatronics files from the game were uploaded. Unknowingly, they incorporate William's AI into the game. We take on the role of a player testing out the game's demo. But the more we play, the more we find out about the "glitch trap" code—the suit's AI.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, the most recent game, was released on December 16, 2021, although ideas continue to circulate. "I don't know the Security Breach storyline yet, but it's a great game and I've been watching theoretical videos about it," says student Clay Hernandez. One of the most significant horror games of our age is "Five Nights at Freddy's," and since 2014, streamers have enjoyed playing the series. As of right now, certain playthroughs, such as Markiplier's initial FNAF broadcast, have received more than 100 million views. Since the release of the most recent game, Security Breach, the series, which has been popular for over 8 years, is seeing a resurgence in popularity.
