Bead wire is a key component used in the manufacturing of tires. It is made of high-carbon steel alloy and formed into a coil shape. While the basic working principle remains the same, bead wire specifications may vary depending on the tire type and application. For example, passenger car radial tires use relatively thinner bead wire coils compared to commercial vehicle tires, which experience heavier loads. Off-road and intensive-use tires require even higher strength bead wire. Similarly, retread casings use recycled bead wires designed for multiple retreading cycles. Winter tires also employ special bead wiring to give enhanced rim adhesion in cold weather conditions.
