“Dancing With Sea Lions” is not merely a phrase; it embodies an extraordinary connection between humans and marine life. At Dancingwithsealions.art, we celebrate this bond, showcasing the mesmerizing beauty of these creatures through twenty life size sea lion sculptures, each vibrantly painted by a different artist, our platform serves as a tribute to the enchanting dance shared between humans and sea lions.
Kassy Keppol: Diver’s Story:
Artist Kassy Keppol designed Diver’s Story to tell the story of the friendship between a girl and her friend Porter. Across Porter’s body there are ten storybook picture panels showing different scenes of things they might be doing together. The picture panels are framed and connected with beautifully created faux batik and henna designs, richly colored like the depths of the ocean. The whimsical scenes are meant to draw the eye in to experience the colors and patterns.
Through her artist's lens, she captures moments of intimacy between divers and sea lions, inviting audiences to experience the magic of the ocean firsthand.
