If you're looking for a place to visit that's authentically British, look no further. These eight attractions leave you feeling like you've just taken a trip across the pond. Their quaint, cosy, and authentic appeal make them the perfect place to relax and enjoy a little culture while you explore the UK. Many of these sights are best experienced during the daytime when they can feel more like a living museum than a tourist attraction.

The British Museum, London, England

It's one of the largest museums in Europe - and it houses objects from around the world that date back almost three millennia! Be sure to spend some hours exploring all four floors of this fascinating site at your own pace.

This museum has many pieces of art and historical exhibits ranging from mummies to Greek pottery to great works by Monet, Picasso, and Renoir. You can even see the Rosetta Stone, which helped decipher Egyptian hieroglyphics – I highly recommend visiting the museum and checking out their special events program, which includes lectures and even chocolate tastings!

Kensington Palace & Albert Memorial, London, England

Kensington Palace was home to Prince William's parents, Prince Charles & Princess Diana until they married in 1981. However, it's still the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka- William & Catherine, or Kate Middleton). You can also tour both Kensington and Buckingham Palaces, which are open every weekend in the summer (March-July).

Albert Memorial, London, England

If you want to see a monumental tribute to Queen Victoria's husband, Albert (who was German), then this is your spot. It holds an Egyptian sarcophagus, a massive bronze statue of Albert - and it was also the world's biggest monument at its creation in 1872. Plus, there's a lovely garden to walk through too.

Angel of the North, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England

The Angel of the North is a tourist attraction featured in many TV shows, movies and advertisements – so you may recognize it from somewhere else! It's located in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear and is made entirely from steel. This sculpture was built in 1998 by Antony Gormley, and it measures about 50 meters in height. It looks to be walking; from an aerial view, you can see it's sitting down. It weighs over 350 tons and costs £1.

Stonehenge tour, United Kingdom

This famous site - located in Wiltshire, England - is famous for its circular arrangement of stones that stands more than 5,000 years old. It's also said to be one of the humans' greatest prehistoric stone circles ever built. Many people have visited the site over the years – some have even reported being mentally and physically affected after visiting this ancient monument.

On the Stonehenge Tours, you'll also see various legends surrounding this site. So, if you love a good story, Stonehenge may be your place!

The preserved remains of an Anglo-Saxon settlement were discovered in 1993 – and it's believed that Stonehenge was a religious centre at one point in time. It's also believed that Druids used the ancient monument as a Druidic temple and burial ground.

Dover Castle, England

Dover Castle is one of the biggest castles in England, if not the world. It's been around since 1070 AD and has been fought over by many European armies. You can also book various guided or self-guided tours to see the castle and its grounds.

Bath Abbey, England

This beautiful abbey is located in Bath, Somerset – and it's said to be the most complete of all medieval abbeys in England! It was built during the 12th century, and you'll visit on a guided tour. Before you visit, I recommend staying at a hotel or B&B in Bath for the night.

Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Gorge in England

This gorge is in the village of Cheddar – situated in the southwest corner of England. This area is known as the 'English Jurassic Park' since it has some of the oldest exposed rocks in Europe! It's famous for its caves and limestone cliffs too. It's a great place to explore and enjoy the outdoors.

These eight places will make you feel like you've taken a trip across the pond without having to leave your own country! You can also see these sites with a guided or private tour or explore them on your own using public transportation. Apart from these, you can also take Harry Potter Studio Tour and enjoy the awesome experience. With all the attractions, there's something here for everyone! Enjoy your next UK adventure – and don't forget to share this post with fellow travellers that might be interested in planning their next vacation.
