Ronnie MT 2K23 tells Complex. "I worked with our team in bringing this concept to life but it was extremely appropriate to work with the actor. When we released the teaser, everyone thought it was going turn out to be another basketball player...it lets us to stay in the world of fashion, culture, and music and culture, which is why 2K has a seat at now."

NBA 2K has evolved from to a mere product of hype in the world of games. It's now a defining moment in the world of culture and the intersection of pop culture, music fashion, sneakers, and of obviously, basketball has taken the franchise to heights that is unmatched by any other sport. With its most recent edition, NBA 2K23. the game made history after announcing J. Cole as the first ever rapper to appear on the cover of NBA 2K with the Dreamer Edition. While it's certainly a surprise that 2K revealed a cover such as this at such a late stage in the game's release, the prevailing trend of the game's gameplay may have suggested that this would happen one day. Even with that being said it was not the brainchild of 2K, but J. Cole's.

"Three and a Half Years" in the past, when he dropped a shot in one break during the All-Star Weekend Saturday Night, J. Cole said 'Ronnie I'd like to see you on MyCareer and help you to think about the ideas around it"" Ronnie 2K tells Complex. "I was part of our team to bring this idea to life but it was very appropriate to collaborate with him. When we launched the teaser, everyone believed it would be another basketball player...it lets us live in fashion, cultureand music, and 2K has his seat at the table now."

Its J. Cole cover is one of the four covers featured in the new edition of 2K and the other covers feature Michael Jordan, Devin Booker and a duo featuring Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. NBA 2K23 is being discussed on social media in recent days, especially with NBA ratings falling this week. Kevin Durant even took at playful jab after his 2K rating was released. On the week prior to the game's release, we talked with Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie 2K on the decision to put MJ as the game's cover of the game instead of LeBron and also on the reason Devin Booker was selected over other NBA stars MyCareer, ProAm gameplay, and much more.

As someone who's apart of the process, what is the top thing you're most excited about with NBA 2K23? Well getting to put Jordan as the front cover of the book is always thrilling and being able to work together with him. The declaration that tells us feel so proud of our game: the best of all time. This really speaks to what we were trying to do from a marketing perspective but also about how the game's impact will be.

We have the Jordan challenges. They're back but they're bigger. Better. There's been lots of chatter about each and every one of them, but there's one set be extremely emotional and the one that I'm anticipating going back to and NBA 2K23 MT revisiting is Kobe. The first game will be against each other. It's going to be a lot of thrilling. I'm an avid MyTeam player so I was pretty excited about to more contracts and three-way online-based co-op.
