Computers, video game consoles, and printers are often provided tougher storage solutions than their high-quality image documentation for a number of reasons. It's the case that electronics are usually packed away with fewer caution than precious photographs.

Though a mover or a UPS driver delivers a package to one address, accidents can still happen. Pack sensitive electronics for moving or storage properly, and you'll see they will last much longer. Give these storage packing suggestions a try, and you can help protect the critical component of your electronics investment.

  • The most secure way to transport sensitive electronics is in their original packaging. As soon as they've functioned as a playhouse for your cat, a sofa for you and your children, or possibly an embarrassing container destined for the refuse, don't hesitate to contact the manufacturer to obtain a package. If they cannot send it, please make especially sure you are careful with packing your electronics.

  • Place cushion the top and bottom of the box filled with towels or bubble wrap and wrap up tightly and fill in void spaces with bubble wrap or other packing materials.

  • Wrap things in bubble wrap. If it has a large screen, be careful to protect it with a towel and several layers of bubble wrap. Place paper around the item. Cover everything with plastic sheeting or plastic wrap.

  • Place old corrugated cardboard on the display surface in place of newspaper to avoid scratching the screen.

Store the supplies of each box separately, then cross-reference your home inventory to make sure everything is in order. Mark your boxes as fragile and supervise their transfer.
