If RuneScape is going to shut down RuneScape gold is gont go offline first as it doesn't make as much cash and MTX will creep up on rs3 till it expires you men forget which game actually makes jagex money. We clearly dont know the exact numbers, however osrs now averages 3x the runescape playerbase of rs3, meaning that osrs brings in about 3x as much cash in membership money. I dont believe that the rs3 runescape player pays for this match 33 $ per month. Im not 100% on this, but I′d guess that osrs brings in more than rs3.

It doesn't make as much MTX cash, but does not OSRS have like 3/4 that the runescape player base? That would be a enormous subscription fee reduction for Jagex.MTX composed barely 25% of the total revenue in 2018, and dropped from 2017. This figure is therefore this includes OSRS bond earnings. I think runescape players prefer to believe in their head that RS3 MTX is your lifeblood of Jagex, but honestly it is making up a tiny fraction of the revenue at this time. OSRS is assuredly making more money than RS3.

Be rs3. Depending on who's in charge in the time Jagex might hold their tongues and realise membership provides them enough or they'll start with little recolours then after the backlash they will hold off for a year or so.I'm amazed I don't see this said again. The LTV gap between that of an RS3 runescape player compared to OSRS is"probably" enormous. Edited cause I do not really know, I have not pored over the docs that has shared around here a couple of months ago so chances are somebody knows.

Haven't played runescape seriously in a couple of years but pay since I want people to feel the sense of freedom and adventure, to osrs I did when I started playing classic, and also to encourage the progession. If any sort of mtx shows up I'm definitely going to cancel it though. Literally the best fucking memories of gaming I have ever had have been through RuneScape... So sad to watch runescape I used to love become a strategy to milk people's pockets. Regardless of the despise, we still play for the exact same reason.
