Valves Only is the leading Floating Ball Valve manufacturers in USA A floating ball valve is a type of valve that uses a ball with a central hole to control fluid flow within a pipeline. These valves are known for their high performance and dependability. The innovative design ensures a secure seal and accurate flow control. Floating ball valves are commonly used in industries such as water treatment and oil & gas. Regular lubrication and inspection are essential to maintain the seal and prevent wear. Some floating ball valves are designed with easy-to-replace seals and seats, allowing for quick maintenance, reducing downtime, and maintaining operational efficiency. By adhering to a regular maintenance routine, operators can extend the lifespan of the valves and improve the overall performance of the fluid control system.
Working Principle
A floating ball valve operates by using a spherical ball with a hole in the centre positioned inside the valve body. The ball is not fixed, but instead "floats" between two seats: one on the upstream side and the other on the downstream side. When the valve handle is rotated, the ball turns 90 degrees to align the hole with the flow path, allowing fluid to pass through. When the valve handle is turned in the opposite direction, the ball rotates and the hole is positioned perpendicular to the flow, effectively blocking the fluid. As the fluid pressure pushes the ball against the downstream seat, it ensures a tight seal, preventing leakage and improving the valve’s sealing performance.
