Mill.com offers a new product called "The Kitchen Bin" that claims to be the world's most hygienic and sustainable kitchen bin. The bin features a hands-free opening system, a self-closing lid, and a removable and washable bin liner made of recycled materials.

Mill is a new system that takes the food you can’t and don’t eat at home, conserves the nutrients, and is creating a new pathway to send it back to farms as a feed ingredient for chickens. Mill members receive a new type of kitchen bin that dries, shrinks, and de-stinks kitchen scraps overnight, turning them into nutrient rich Food Grounds. It’s different from composting and keeps food as food.  Climate Action

Food waste has a massive impact on the climate

If food waste was a country, it would be the third-largest greenhouse gas emitter, behind China and the United States. According to Project Drawdown, reducing food waste is one of our largest opportunities to reduce emissions.

Uneaten food is the most common material in landfills and most of it comes from our homes. When that food rots, it produces methane, a gas that’s 80x more potent than CO₂ .

Wasting food wastes everything: land, water, fertilizer, energy, and effort. Wasted food makes our homes stink. It attracts rats and litters our neighborhoods.

What if nothing was wasted? Collective change is challenging, but it’s not impossible. Our goal is to create a new system that’s truly circular.
