"It's always about the game with people who support WoTLK Gold," continues Blundell. "That was the main motive. The fans began writing it down, and we thought it was a fan service to respond to them." With each response came an even more enthusiastic response from fanswho were thrilled to see their ideas being reflected within the games. "It was a kind of prophecy that they could create more and write more than we could handle because there's so many of them and it's increased in size," says Blundell.

Fans began to work in tandem to find out the hidden secrets. This meant that Treyarch needed to develop more complex gameplay to be able to challenge the players. "The requirement to incorporate multi-discipline and multi-layer complexity in the game has emerged since players are functioning as a synchronized neural system," affirms Blundell. "The entire community is coordinated. It's amazing. I could put in an obscure idea like 'You must throw a grenade on that wall and they'll be able to find it within 48 days. It's possible to look as you're creating it and say, 'There's no way that anyone could ever believe that.' However, due to huge numbers, it'll occur. They'll find the Easter egg."

Despite the continued success of the community in thwarting his every shady strategy, Blundell remains committed to providing more advanced, deeper puzzles, and more of the signature Treyarch spirit with each new map. "Back when the first maps were released they were not anything like this. I am awestruck by the inventiveness of it and the passion that goes with it. It's my responsibility to make it more difficult for people to succeed," laughs Blundell. "Even when we have more players on the game and it becomes an intense effort to create an Zombies experience My job as director is to maintain that spirit. It's a challenge to keep an experience that is fresh and unpretentious when you're well-constructed and organized however, I hope that it's there buy WoTLK Gold and hopefully, the joy and enthusiasm is apparent in the DLCs we create."
