Australian Computer Society Skills Assessment Eligibility Criteria
Countless applicants are planning to go through an Australian Computer Society skills assessment. In fact, ACS reviews countless applications for migration purposes. However, most of the applications it receives get rejected.
So, preparing your application flawlessly is a must for you. For that, you must become familiar with the eligibility criteria. It is because unless you know what you are expected of, you can’t give the expectations of the authority. In short, unless you know the requirements you need to fulfill, you can’t have a successful Australian Computer Society skills assessment.
Therefore, we have prepared this blog to familiarize you with the eligibility requirements for different types of pathways. Each of the pathways and the requirements is determined by the work experience and educational qualifications of the candidates.
Eligibility criteria:
The following are the eligibility criteria according to the different pathways:
Temporary Graduate:
You need to complete an Australian Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and that degree has to be closely related to your nominated occupation and an ICT major. It’s not mandatory for you to have worked in the field.
Post Australian Study Skills Assessment:
For this pathway, you must have an Australian Bachelor’s Degree or higher. The Australian qualification has to an ICT major and is closely related to the chosen occupation. In addition, completing one year of post-study work experience or completing the ACS Professional Year program is a must for you.
Skills:
In the case of possessing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and the degree is closely relevant to your occupation, and it is an ICT major, you are required to show 2 years of relevant work experience in the last 10 years or 4 years of relevant work experience you acquired anytime in the past.
If possessing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and the degree is not closely relevant to the occupation, and it is an ICT major, you need to show 4 years of related work experience you acquired anytime in the past.
In the case of possessing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and the degree is closely relevant to your occupation, and it is an ICT minor, you need to show 5 years of related work experience in the last 10 years or 6 years of related work experience you acquired anytime in the past.
If possessing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and the degree is not closely related to your occupation, and it is an ICT minor, you have to show 6 years of related work experience attained anytime in the past.
If having a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree, and the qualification harmonizes with your occupation, and it is an ICT major, show 5 years of related work experience earned in the last 10 years or 6 years of relevant work experience earned anytime in the past.
In the case of possessing a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree, and the qualification is closely relevant to your occupation, and it is an ICT major, you need to have 6 years of related work experience gained anytime in the past.
RPL:
If possessing a non-ICT Diploma or higher, you need to have 6 years of related work experience and a successful RPL application.
If not having any tertiary qualification, you must possess 8 years of relevant work experience and a successful RPL application.
For the RPL pathway, you are required to demonstrate how you earned your ICT knowledge. For this, the submission of two project reports is a must for the ACS Australia assessment. Your report must be with details on your career episode and show the ICT knowledge you earned in a working situation.
