The Javazon is a high damage-dealing character with strong AoE and mobility. While fragile in the early game, a properly equipped Javazon can be a very efficient PvM and magic find character in the endgame due to her unrivalled clear speeds. Javazon is not recommended for hardcore mode due to lack of defensive options especially while leveling. Range control is important and you will be punished for mistakes.

Strengths:

High single-target and AoE damage: With powerful lightning-based skills like Lightning Fury and Charged Strike, Javazon can deal high single-target and AoE damage making her proficient in clearing mobs and boss-killing.

Good mobility: Javazons usually run fast, but struggle with FCR, making them poor teleporters. Avoid teleporting into large mobs, as you may not be able to get back out.

Weaknesses:

Squishy: The Javazon is a glass cannon This means she needs to rely on mobility and range management to survive.

Gear dependent: A well-equipped Javazon can be very effective, but her damage output and survivability are heavily dependent on gear. This means that she can be difficult to play without access to good items.

Limited mana pool: Javazon's skills can be mana-intensive, which means she needs to be careful with her mana usage. This can be resolved with the Phoenix runeword which will be explored in the gear section.

Breakpoint Considerations:
This explains the meaning of each of the breakpoints for Faster Block Rate (FBR), Faster Cast Rate (FCR), Faster Hit Recovery (FHR), and Increased Attack Speed (IAS).

FBR: 5 frame rate with 0 FBR is what any monarch hits, while 4 frames with 13 FBR, 3 frames with 32 FBR, and 2 frames with 86 FBR are increasingly difficult to achieve.

FCR: 19 frames with 0 FCR to 11 frames with 152 FCR. It notes that hitting the 14 or 15 frames with a Spirit and Griffon alone is achievable, while it's not worth trying to make it faster as it will always be extremely slow.

FHR: 11 frames with 0 FHR is the slowest, while 4 frames with 174 FHR is the fastest. I suggest aiming for FHR in the range of 32 / 52 / 86, depending on gear.

For IAS, the guide lists different breakpoints for different kinds of attacks, based on the speed of the weapon. The guide suggests hitting the 50 / 52 IAS breakpoints for most Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Items weapons on a javelin, and at least the 89 IAS breakpoint for throwables.

The following tables illustrate the breakpoints for a PvM Javazon using javelins, categorized by Faster Block Rate (FBR), Faster Cast Rate (FCR), Faster Hit Recovery (FHR), and Increased Attack Speed (IAS).

It is important to note that achieving a faster frame rate for Faster Cast Rate (FCR) beyond 48 frames is not worth it for a PvM Javazon as it will still be extremely slow. It is recommended to stick with Griffon FCR and switch to Spirit next to Call To Arms for optimal results. A Faster Hit Recovery (FHR) of 5 frames is optimal to achieve, but it can be quite challenging without a Spirit. A FHR of 52 is recommended, and a FHR of 32 is acceptable if it is difficult to achieve. A Faster Block Rate (FBR) of 2 frames is not necessary, while a Faster Cast Rate (FCR) of 22 frames can be achieved with Griffon alone.

Essential Gear:
Before we dive into specific gear, it is important to note that having an Act2 Mercenary with an Infinity Rune Word is the most crucial item for this build. The Infinity Rune Word removes immunity from enemies and decreases resistance by 85% on regular monsters. This is the single most important item for the entire build. Without it, your character will not be effective. Although this item is expensive, it is worth the investment. Other gear choices are dependent on personal preference and research.

Inventory Gear:

The following gear is ideal for the inventory:

  • Skillers with a combination of life and Faster Hit Recovery (FHR). The FHR breakpoints should be watched to make a final decision.
  • Torch and Anni.
  • Life/Resistance small charms. Maximize Resistance first.
  • FRW/Resistances charms for more mobility
  • MF/Resistances charms for more MF

Secondary Weapon:

The two recommended secondary weapons are Call to Arms or Spirit. Spirit is particularly useful for teleporting quickly outside of the Skill buff to battle orders.

Equipment:

The following equipment choices are arranged from the richest (best) to poorest (worse):

  • Weapon: 6/40 Javelin, Thunderstroke, or Titans.
    • The 6/40 is a magical javelin that provides +6 to the most vital skills and 40% Increased Attack Speed (IAS).
    • Thunderstroke has 15 IAS and decreases enemy resistance by 15.
    • Titans have some benefits, but Thunderstroke provides more room for better gear on other slots. It does however provide regenerating javelins which some may prefer. A second pair is recommended to avoid running out.
  • Shield: Stormshield, 20/20 jmod, Spirit or Phoenix.
    • Stormshield adds 35% damage reduction, fast and high block rate, and can be socketed with additional desired bonuses. A very strong defensive option.
    • 20/20 jmod provides a 20% damage boost and removes remaining resistance for maximum power. A very strong damage option.
    • Spirit is the only shield option that adds +skills and helps with FHR and mana usage. A fantastic all rounder
    • Phoenix provides a redemption aura which eliminates the needs for constant potions. Additional fire absorb is useful although it is difficult to utilise the max resistances buffs given the Javazons weak natural resistances with gear.
  • Armor: Enigma, Chains of Honour or Treachery.
    • Enigma allows you to teleport, but its real power is in relocating the mercenary, which can add the most damage to your character by removing immunity and increasing resistance. Additional FRW, MF, strength and damage reduction are also helpful bonuses.
    • Chains of Honour is the best option for those that don’t like to teleport. It offers a tremendous bonus to much lacking resistances, as well damage reduction. It is important to note you also lose the additional FRW that Enigma offers, reducing your overall mobility significantly.
    • Treachery is cheaper and provides a lot of IAS with a chance to cast Fade and Venom.
  • Belt: Razortail.
    • This belt provides the needed 100% pierce to boost your damage significantly.
    • Thundergods may be tempting given it’s tailormade for a Javazon, and provide much needed defensive stats, however it takes away our coveted 100% pierce.
  • Rings: Stone of Jordan or Bul-Kathos'.
    • These rings boost your mana, life, and life steal. Do not worry about being frozen or lacking AR.
  • Amulet: Highlords, or Mara's.
    • Highlords provides +20 IAS and 1 skill, use if it is required to hit your IAS breakpoint.
    • Mara's is a dependable item that boosts your resistance and skills.
  • Helm: Griffon or Shako.
    • Griffon is the best option with a 5/5 Rainbow Facet socketed for maximum damage.
    • Shako is a cheaper alternative if Griffon is unavailable.
  • Gloves: Lancer's gloves of Alacrity
    • Lancer's gloves of Alacrity provide +3 to javelin skills and 20 IAS.
    • Any glove that helps you achieve your IAS breakpoint can be considered for a cheaper alternative.
  • Boots: FRW / FHR / Tri-res Boots or Aldurs
    • Rare boots provide everything a Javazon needs, including FRW/FHR and resistances.
    • Aldurs provides huge boosts to your FTW and some resistances to fire, however it lacks the FHR of Rare boots.
