Required criteria:
The criteria are different, as they vary according to the level of educational background and work experience of a candidate:
Temporary Graduate:
It’s a must for you to complete an Australian Bachelor’s Degree or higher, and the degree is required to be an ICT major and closely relevant to the occupation you have chosen to apply for. It’s not compulsory for you to have worked in the field.
Post Australian Study Skills Assessment:
It’s a must for you to have an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher. The Australian qualification needs to be an ICT major and closely related to your chosen occupation. Aside from that, it’s a must for you to complete one year of related post-study work experience or complete the ACS Professional Year program.
Skills:
If you are a bachelor’s degree or higher, and that degree is closely related to the occupation you chose to apply for and an ICT major, you must have 2 years of relevant work experience earned in the last 10 years or 4 years of related work experience you acquired anytime in the past.
If having a bachelor’s degree or higher and is not closely related to the occupation you selected, and it is an ICT major, you are required to show 4 years of related work experience that you earned anytime in the past.
In the case of being with a bachelor’s degree or higher, and the degree is closely relevant to the occupation you have selected to apply for, and it is an ICT minor, show 5 years of relevant working experience you earned in the period of the last 10 years or 6 years of related work experience you earned anytime in the past.
In the case of possessing a bachelor’s degree or above, and the degree is not closely related to the occupation you selected to apply for, and it is an ICT minor, you need to show 6 years of relevant work experience you attained anytime in the past.
If you are in possession of a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree, and the qualification is closely relevant to your occupation, and it is an ICT major, demonstrate 5 years of relevant working experience you had in the period of the last 10 years or 6 years of related work experience you attained anytime in the past for the ACS Australia assessment.
If you have a Diploma, Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma that is not closely relevant to the occupation you chose to apply for, and it is an ICT major, you need to have 6 years of relevant working experience that you earned anytime in the past.
RPL
If having a non-ICT Diploma or higher, you need to possess 6 years of related work experience and a positive RPL application.
If without tertiary qualifications, then candidates must have 8 years of related working experience and a successful RPL application.
ICT Major and ICT Minor:
If you are with a bachelor’s degree or above, you need to complete a minimum of 33% of your studies in computing to be regarded as ICT Major. If for a Diploma, Associated Degree or Advanced Diploma, at least 50% of the classes have to be in computing for being considered an ICT Major. A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification is regarded as an ICT minor when the computing content is at least 2/3 of the requirements for a major.
