Quests in New World are given by NPCs or obtained by exploring certain Locations. Quests net your experience points and rewards, most of the time some sort of equipment type to help you improve your gear and new world coin. Completing quests will allow you to level up and grow stronger and learn about what exactly is going on through the world.
New World has plenty of unique side quests that have been hidden away that can improve player immersion with the environment. Most of them involve epic weapons and powerful enemies, but others involve crafting and exploration instead of fighting Aeternum's hostiles. These unique side quests are part of the adventure for those looking for some inspiration.
1. Mother Ocean, Cutlass Keys
Here's a quest that gives player's a nice incentive to explore the islands along the southern coast of Cutlass Keys. It's also a nice callback to all those romantic stories that make the ocean the main antagonist, like The Tempest and Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.
There are other quests in a chain to complete, and they all provide decent rewards starting at level 30. This quest chain is also an efficient way to loot through the Condemned Shallows, where many ships and their bountiful cargo have been docked permanently.
2. Sweet Secrets, Brightwood
'Sweet Secrets' is a level 32 side quest in New World where Naturalist Khunbish tasks you with obtaining Lush Sugarsap from Young Trees in Lush Hideaway. Her quest will send the player into the Lush Hideaway, a unique and dangerous area in the southeast of Brightwood.
The enemies here consist of the natural guardian spirits of the Azoth Tree as opposed to Corrupted or Withered. The reward for this quest is a Tier III weapon case and an elite quest as a follow-up to kill an Arch Druid.
3. Recipe For Disaster, Cutlass Keys
Recover Swampy's missing recipes from the Salty Snail Fishery and his cookbook from Misanthrope Broadbin at Pond Scum Fort.s complete.
What sets this apart from the rest of this chain is the double-reward. Not only is there a level 33 chest when you return the recipe book and missing pages, but there's also a chest the player can open for killing the mini-boss of this quest, Misanthrope Broadbin. It's an easy quest to find amid the busy Cutlass Keys settlement.
4. Keen Temper, Cutlass Keys
This quest is named for the sword that awaits its completion, and it's one of the best side-quest rewards available. Antonia Lucian offers the quest in Cutlass Keys, which gives you the work order that lists the ingredients required and where they can be found.
What follows is an epic journey to various locations throughout the more dangerous zones of Aeternum, including to some places that would never appear on the map otherwise. Players who don't use swords or have the points in Dexterity or Strength to make it feasible to equip one can miss this quest entirely.
5. To Be A Grand Master
To Be a Grand Master is part of the Fishing Quest chain, which consists of special Side Quests focused on the Fishing Trade Skill. Each quest requires the player to complete a Fishing-related task and serves as a soft introduction to various Fishing mechanics such as Bait, Fish Size & Rarity, Hotspots, and more. There are 15 Quests in the chain, and each rewards a piece of equipment useful in Fishing, along with other rewards, such as XP and new world gold, etc.
For the last one that precedes "To Be A Grand Master," the player needs to bring a total of 100 fish filets of varying kinds to Gasper.
These quests as part of the immersion factor and make finding the quests themselves a part of the adventure in New World.
