What is the future of EV charging stations in India?
What is an EV charging station?
EVs, or electric vehicle charging stations, are referred to as a kind of charging station that provides equipment equipped with the electrical power required for charging electric vehicles. EV charging stations link electronic vehicles to the charger. The number of these charging stations has gradually increased in the past few years. It is seen that the number of electric vehicles has increased over time. Not only 2 wheelers but also 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers, as well as passenger vehicles, have somewhat increased. According to the Road Transport and Highways Minister, the number of EVs will be equal to the number of gasoline vehicles in the long run. Keeping this in mind, the number of electric vehicle charge stations will expand. People have been looking for outdoor EV charger installation solutions.
With the increase shown in 2022, it is expected that the upcoming years will see more development in this field, eventually growing in the next few years. Along with the existing EV charging station contractors and service providers, government firms and other construction dealers will also play a part in the rise of electric vehicle charging stations in the country.
There are many types of chargers, like AC and DC, which are alternating current and direct current, respectively, that are commonly used.
As per the report by the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA), the charging stations, EY and Induslaw, are anticipated to grow by the year 2027. By 2030, India might require around 20 lakh charging stations to serve around 5 crore electric vehicles.
The electric vehicle charging stations will provide service for two types of EVs: one with the plug-in ability and one with the option of swappable batteries. Swapping batteries is mostly preferred by two-wheelers and three-wheelers, and the plug-in option is used by four-wheelers. Swappable battery stations are much more inexpensive, and they ease the charging time. Ordinarily, the batteries last for around 10 to 20 years if used effectively, but it can affect the lifespan of the batteries. Preventing charging the batteries at level 3 will reduce the risk, as the charging process is swift at level 3. This was noticed by the two-wheeler EV charging contractors.
In addition to the existing slow charging option, which is alternating current, or AC, EV charging solution contractors and specialist companies will come up with new, fast charging options like direct current, or DC. These facilities will not only be made available to the people living in the metropolitan cities along express highways and highways but also in places like Tier 2 and Tier 3 in the country.
They are available in public places like petrol pumps, commercial premises, and municipal parking places, they are also available in private sectors like offices and residential places.
To conclude, EV charging stations have a great future in the Country.
