Pregnancy Rates with Artificial Insemination
Overall success rates for artificial insemination vary based on factors like the woman's age, cause of infertility and the type of procedure performed (IUI vs ICI). Some general trends in pregnancy rates with AI include:
- Under 35 Years: Approximately 15-20% pregnancy rate per IUI cycle and 10-15% per ICI cycle.
- 35-37 Years: Pregnancy rates fall to around 10-15% with IUI and 5-10% with ICI.
- 38-40 Years: Pregnancy chances per cycle further dip to 5-10% for IUI and 2-5% for ICI.

With the average cycle taking 1-2 months, most specialists recommend 4-6 cycles as an adequate trial before considering other fertility treatments. Pregnancy rates also tend to be higher when the man's sperm show normal parameters.
