HP Omen 16 (2022) and Victus 15 (2022) gaming laptops were launched in the US on Wednesday. The laptops are quite similar to the previous generation of machines except they now have revamped cooling systems as well as new processor options from Intel and AMD. In addition, HP says that both Omen 16 (2022) and Victus 15 (2022) laptops come with Omen Gaming Hub that offers features such as Performance FMWhatsapp Mode, Network Booster, and System Vitals that allow for tweaking to provide a better gaming experience.


The new laptops are also equipped with Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU and are available in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch models. HP has also launched a new keyboard called the ‘Omen Command’ that has been designed for gamers. The keyboard comes with red lighting for an aggressive look, and it is supposed to be more comfortable to type on compared to the previous generation of keyboards from HP. The Omen Command keyboard will be available in the US in March, while the rest of the world will have to wait until Q2 this year for their hands-on experience with this keyboard.

One of the highlights of this laptop is its 15-hour battery life, which is almost double compared to its predecessor’s battery life. The company says that it has achieved this by using an updated cooling system as well as a more power-efficient processor from Intel - Kaby Lake R CPUs. In addition, HP says that they have also optimized their graphics card offerings by offering both AMD and Nvidia options based on market requirements, along with varying price points depending on market segment preference.

The Omen Gaming Hub allows users to tweak settings such as fan speeds and performance mode in order to provide a better gaming experience. Furthermore, there are 3DMark benchmark tests that show how fast both laptops perform when it comes to 3DMark benchmarks such as Fire Strike, Time Spy and Ice Storm Extreme (SSX). For example, HP Omen 16 (20K6) scored 47,717 in Fire Strike and scored a 94,537 in Time Spy.
