The origins of A Program in Miracles can be tracked back again to the collaboration between two people, Helen Schucman and William Thetford, equally of whom were prominent psychologists and researchers. The course's inception happened in the early 1960s when Schucman, who was a scientific and study psychiatrist at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, began to experience some internal a course in miracles dictations. She described these dictations as originating from an internal style that determined it self as Jesus Christ.
