The post itself made me consider the past when Dungeoneering came out. Was it new? Yup. Was it exciting? Just a little OSRS gold. Can it be cool? That all depended on who you were speaking to at any given moment however most folks weren't impressed with it at all after a short time once the reality of this skill sunk in. Level 120? Dungeoneering itself? It was to be nothing more than a pain in the buttocks method of getting a couple of new items and yes, it required a lot of hours to get it done!
What it really amounted to when I looked at it, performed with it and saw exactly what was involved... was that skill was nothing greater than a"ability" put into place so as to give all the obsessive/compulsives something to do after they had completed everything else to do under the RS sun.
Can you say... degree 120 anybody?!? The fear at the time was that level 120 was likely to become the new standard for many abilities but for those people who were still sane and exercised common cheap RS gold sense logic, we saw nothing more than an empty shell with a fantastic paint job.
Let's face it... dumb clicking to level some abilities to 99 was already bad enough but if you wanted it all then that is exactly what you did. Besides gaining some items to show off like capes and the like... names... yada-yada-yada... being around the top page of the hi-scores dining table... or on the respective skills tables meant you're"the best" and should be worshipped.
