The Foundation of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences 50 years ago Shiraz Institute of Higher Health Education admitted some medical students. For many years, it continued its academic activities as the main faculty of Shiraz University. In 1986, it was separated from Shiraz University and started its activities independently, first, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, then the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, Fars Province. Currently, with more than 5000 students, 83 different majors, 460 academic staff and 12000 employees, it not only provides educational services but also provides health services needed for the entire country and the province of Fars in general. The University is committed to excellence in research, treatment and teaching. The performance of state-of-the-art and advanced services like bone marrow, heart and kidney transplants proves the university's high standards.
