David Poile probably made a mistake when he signed Matt Hendricks to a four-year, $7.4 million contract. The Edmonton Oilers helped him fix it.Poile's Nashville Predators on Wednesday sent Hendricks, a 32-year-old bottom-sixer on a long-term deal, to the Oilers for goalie Devan Dubnyk, who's a pending free agent and, at minimum, a good fill-in for Pekka Zach Cunningham Jersey Rinne.It's an obvious win for Vince Wilfork Jersey Nashville, who still have too many third- and fourth-line forwards and certainly didn't need Hendricks. The Oilers, apparently, think they need him they've been on a quest to get tougher, and Hendricks fits at least that bill. He fights, if that's your thing, can kill penalties and is good in shootouts.The problem, though, is that he has 21 points in his last 170 games, is signed until he's 36 years old and cost Edmonton a goalie who until this season (.894 save percentage, 3.36 GAA) was at least an average starter. Given his contract, the Oilers probably would've been better off losing Dubnyk for nothing. James Reimer, given that Jonathan Bernier has e sentially taken over the starting job in Toronto, is going to be connected to Edmonton.Even if they were clearing the decks for something else, though Roy Lopez Jersey , adding Hendricks is a mistake. Trading for Reimer, or Cam Ward, or whomever else, will not change that.
