Nova Scotia is making progress towards meeting its healthcare needs through the Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot. On June 11, 2024, Nova Scotia invited applicants who had received a Letter of Interest (LOI). This campaign, which targets podiatrists under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 31209, represents a big step forward in healthcare recruitment.

The Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot Described

The Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot is intended to expedite the immigration process for healthcare professionals, allowing Nova Scotia to fulfill its expanding healthcare needs.
This pilot is not a Labour Market Priorities pull, but rather aimed at bringing talented podiatrists to the province. Candidates who obtained a LOI on their Express Entry profile on June 11, 2024, are eligible to participate in this drawing. However, it is important to emphasize that, while all individuals in NOC 31209 have received invites, only those with specialized job experience as podiatrists are entitled to apply.

Steps for Participating in the Pilot

If you obtained a LOI and have expertise as a podiatrist, here are the following steps:

Show Your Interest : Fill out a survey given by the Nova Scotia Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment to indicate your interest in becoming a podiatrist in Nova Scotia. This survey is a vital part of the application process.

Job offer subject to conditions : Your survey results will be shared with healthcare employers in Nova Scotia. If chosen, you may receive a conditional job offer from a Nova Scotia healthcare provider.

The Application Process :
With a conditional job offer, you can apply for permanent residency under either the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) or the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Important Information for Applicants : Participation in the Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot, as well as nomination under a non-Express Entry stream or endorsement under the AIP, will not result in an increase of 600 points in your Express Entry profile. However, your profile will stay in the federal Express Entry pool, allowing you to pursue additional chances.

Nova Scotia Nominee Program Requirements: Skilled Worker Stream

To apply for the Skilled Worker stream of the NSNP, you must meet the following criteria:

Job Offer: A legitimate job offer from a Nova Scotia firm.

Legal standing: A valid passport and legal standing in the nation where you live.

Education: A Canadian high school diploma or an international equivalent certified by an educational credential evaluation.

English or French language skills equivalent to CLB 5.

Work Experience: Provide a reference letter demonstrating one year of experience in a role relevant to your employment offer.

Intention to Settle: A clear intention to permanently settle and live in Nova Scotia.

Atlantic Immigration Program Requirements:

Similarly, candidates who apply through the AIP must meet the following criteria:

A employment offer from an entity designated by the AIP.

Legal standing: A valid passport and legal standing in the nation where you live.

An educational credential evaluation validates a Canadian high school diploma or an equivalent from outside of Canada.

Language Proficiency: A language test that demonstrates a minimum CLB 5 in either official language.

Work Experience: Provide a reference letter demonstrating one year of experience in a healthcare-related profession.

Intention to Settle: A clear intention to permanently settle and live in Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia's Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot is an excellent opportunity for podiatrists wishing to make a significant contribution to the province's healthcare system.
By attracting qualified experts, Nova Scotia ensures that its healthcare industry remains strong and capable of satisfying its inhabitants' demands. If you fit the requirements and are enthusiastic about working in Nova Scotia, this pilot could lead to a meaningful career and a new home.
